I visited Seminar on 12/29/2022 (receipt ID#********. A month later, as I was clearing out my wallet, I came across the receipt and noticed that I was charged an ****************** Fee Gratuity" of $18.70. My subtotal was $93.50. Not noticing or expecting this fee for a party of 2, I tipped an additional $24, for a grand total of $148.79. I emailed Seminar on 1/26/23 and requested clarification on the automatic gratuity policy. This message was sent through the "contact us" section of the website ************************************************************* On 1/29/23, having received no reply, I emailed ******************************************************** also listed on the website, with the same question. On 2/3/23, I called Seminar, as I had received no followup via email. I spoke to ******, who explained that the gratuity policy applies to bills with a subtotal over $100. She noted that this policy is posted at the bar, though I don't recall seeing it. I explained that my bill subtotal was not $100, and she agreed to share my information with the general manager, *************************, with the understanding that he would follow up. I called again on 2/9/23, as I had not received any follow up. ****** again agreed to share this information with ******. On 2/11/23, I received an email from ****** ******************************************************* requesting the date and subtotal of the transaction. I responded to the email on 2/11/23 with the information requested. On 2/20/23, I responded again, as I had not received a reply. As of 2/25/23, I have not received a response, explanation, or offer to refund the erroneous charge.
