I was quoted 2 days for hanging wire shelving and installing bathroom accessories. Everything I asked for was fairly simple and I have done some of them myself in the past. After 4 days (Sept 21, 24, 25, 26) I asked him not to come back since his work was so sloppy and then I hired someone else to install wire shelving in the master closet, pantry, and hang some coat racks. ******************* is trying to charge me $900. I paid for all supplies. I was told the work was "good enough". It isn't and I have pictures. I have to pay someone to redo most of what he did. Examples: laundry room shelves (two 6' butted against walls with a gap in the middle) need to be taken down since none of the manufacturer stickers were removed, just punched through, holes in closet walls were not filled correctly, some not even sanded, gobs of filler just painted over, items hung too high without checking with me first, still need someone to center a mirror), none of the shelves he hung line up or meet properly, one was cut too short and needs replacing. Also, he spent a good portion of one day on the phone. Charges by the hour. Left garbage thrown on top of boxes I was trying to unpack and old wire shelving and support posts were left on top of clothing on my bed and also in the middle of the floor.I have an itemized list of exactly what was done, what was done incorrectly, and what I need to pay someone else to fix (not enough room here) and more photos.I offered $300 (which my contractor thought was too much). He is threatening to take me to court, file a lien against my property and *** me if I post any negative reviews online.

    Business Response

Thanks for the follow upon this concern from ******************. Regarding her complaint, I agreed to work by the hour giving her a potential time on the job of two days. The work performed took lo ger due to the walls that were involved being firebrick framed which required a new shelving system being sourced.

The closet drywall had been punched three times before with multiple organizing systems. It had to be properly painted.

I've had this business for 18 months.  No complaints except her. All of my business is referral and repeat work. What's interesting with this client is that her first response when she received the bill was that she wanted me to take time off of the invoice for receiving a call regarding the death of a college roommate. When I told her that I would credit the invoice $60, she responded that everything was wrong with what I did.

I do this because I love it. Some people are never happy. They leave negative restaurant reviews wherever they go. The master closet is ************ and fit wire shelf layout. The bathroom fixtures were all put together properly. I placed two six foot shelf parts for a twelve foot run. She didn't like that. I understand that some people are ****** particular. Nothing about my work was out of the norm. Let her know that if she wants to settle for $500, that will be an acceptable amount to stop the Small Claims Summons.

In closing, I can give you 40 references to call regarding my work. I get it. I've been in corporate sales my entire life and so.e clients are harder to deal with. That's life. Please let me know ASAP if this is an acceptable compromise and when I can expect the check.
