Stone Interiors of South Carolina is a countertop subcontractor for a national Home Improvement company. I contracted with the home improvement company for new kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops. The cabinet installer removed the old cabinets and installed the new ones in two days. Stone Interiors of South Carolina didn't show up to measure the installed cabinets for three weeks afterward. Then, it took another THREE MONTHS for STONE INTERIORS OF SOUTH CAROLINA to arrive to fabricate the countertops on my patio.
Worse, the their "people" left the back door open as they worked and contaminated my house with silica dust. I had a professional take readings of suspended particulate in my living room and in the 20'x30' recreation room to which the back door leads. Both readings were alarmingly high. The recreation room read 457,600 per cubic foot, and the living room read 262,000 particles per cubic foot. Both levels are dangerously high. I have been having breathing issues since. I have seen a doctor twice since the installation.
The home improvement company has been kept informed of its subcontractor's lapses of common sense. It has been one month since my house was contaminated. Neither STONE INTERIORS OF SOUTH CAROLINA nor the home improvement company has done anything to fix the problem. Today, the home improvement company informed me that I am to negotiate with STONE INTERIORS OF SOUTH CAROLINA to solve the issue.
I have grave doubts that anything will come of any negotiation.
A little online investigation into STONE INTERIORS OF SOUTH CAROLINA indicates that it has botched dozens of kitchen projects in the past year alone. The home improvement company has made no attempt to qualify this contractor, nor has it made any attempt to employ a reliable subcontractor.
I urge anyone who considers having any countertop work done to do a little online research about STONE INTERIORS OF SOUTH CAROLINA and RUN!!!
Run to save yourself while there's still time.

Before I wrote this review I decided to read the others and I wish I had read them back in October before getting my project started. Some of the same previous reviews are the reason I am writing this one and I cant say that I'm shocked one bit! Poor communication on behalf of Lowes where I selected our countertops and Stone Interior who was contracted to install. After selection of a countertop I wasn't informed that it was discontinued until two weeks later when I took it upon myself to call. After that everything progressively got worse. The communication on behalf of stone Interiors and Lowes was non-existent. I had to be the liaison between the two in order to get the project moved along. That took a total of three months. On installation day I was informed that I had to put in the plywood myself for my countertops! Thats the equivalent of getting your old floors ripped out and them telling you that you have to put the underlayment down before we can install the new floor. THATS NOT MY JOB AND WHAT YOU WHERE PAID FOR! Nobody informed me until the day of installation that I had to pick up my own sinks. I was told that they would send someone out (once I got my special order sinks a week later ) to install them. (That was after Lowes failed to charge me for the sinks in my initial purchase which they should have because I picked out the sinks in order to cut the counter profile) Well at that point they wanted to still charge me for a trip to my location. I was being penalized for something that wasn't my fault to begin with! My job was to pay and remove plumbing...THATS IT! But I found myself as somewhat of a project manager for both Lowes and Stone Interior. This was the worst experience I can say I've ever had and would not recommend their services to anyone EVER! You would think they would read these reviews and understand there is an internal problem to fix but apparently they don't because I've seen these same complaints in a review from 2022... Its 2024.

Mr. K***- Stone Interiors was contracted to remove your old countertops and install the new ones you purchased. When we removed the existing tops, we discovered the previous installer had glued the tops to the plywood. Installing the substrate is outside of the scope of work we were contracted to do, but in effort to provide exceptional service, we returned the very next morning to complete that for you, at no charge.
Unfortunately, we were not involved in the purchase, selection, or delivery of the sinks you chose however we did correctly fabricate the cutouts for the sinks and were prepared to install your sinks.
The material was ordered and installed within 15 business days of our company receiving the final purchase order.

Stone interior has not completed my project yet however the project has been ongoing for 3 months and I see no end insight. I have called in tried to get a target date for completion and that has not been successful. I am patiently waiting as this was a birthday gift to myself and my birthday is just days away and it's still not completed. I don't know when it is going to be completed so this has not been the best experience for me. I would not recommend this company as I went through Lowe's for the project. Not a good customer experience.

Terrible communication! I've called everyday for the past week in attempt to set up an appointment to have my countertops measured, but can never make it past the receptionist (unless you count being transferred to a voicemail with no room to leave a message). The receptionist claims only one person in this entire company is able to schedule appointments, but never knows his availability and is too lazy to go to his office to check. She claims that she'll take a message for him to return my call, but never took down my name and number. Eventually, she stopped answering my calls... how do I know this? Because there would be no answer at all when I called, but when I switched to calling from my husband's phone, she answered right away. We're going with a different company that has some professionalism and knows how to treat their customers.
