The front desk approved a late check out . And the manager Trent proceeded to beat on the door making threats to my children and I , although the lady told him he did approve it. He threatened my kids and curses at them . What kind of human being make threats to kids . Now a couple of days later he’s making charges on my debit card saying they’re late fees. I’m filing a lawsuit for harassment, emotional distress and theft. Management condones this behavior and now I have to take matters into my own hands.

On the morning in question, May 10th 2023, I was called at around 11:45 am and told the guest in 308 had not checked out (check-out is at 11am) and housekeeping needed to get in and clean the room. I asked the desk if they had a late check-out the GSR said no. I checked our internal messaging system and there was no note concerning a request for a late check out. I then called the room twice to speak to the guest to get clarification and there was no answer. At that point I had no alternative other than to go to the room and knock on the door. Besides myself, the housekeeping manager also went to the room. When I knocked on the door a man said "my momma told me checkout is at 12". I told him multiple times that checkout was at 11 am. He would not open the door so I had to use an elevated voice to speak to him. When I finally got him to open the door, because I told him I couldn't speak to him through a closed door, I told him it was nearly 12 and asked that he check out so that we could get the room clean for the next guest. At no point did I curse or was I disrespectful. I then left the room and went back downstairs. Before I made it to my office ***** ******s (his mother) called and asked to speak to me. She told me that she didn't "appreciate" me speaking to her son. Keep in mind not only was she not on the premises when I went to the room but when I did go to the room I didn't know anything about a mother renting a room and leaving her child(ren) in it. I also did not know his age although I was told later by Ms. ******* that he is 18, an adult. I had no one else to speak to at the time about the situation.
After trying to explain again that I had no request for a late checkout and that check out is at 11 Ms. ******* became impossible to speak to. She had no intention of being civil or behaving like an adult. When she began to curse I hung up the phone. Shortly after Ms. ******* came into the building along with her son, and another young male, a child and an adult male. Her son, the other young male and the child had been in the room alone when I went to the room. She once again began to scream that she didn't appreciate me speaking to her child (a grown man). I tried to explain that I knew nothing about her or who was in the room when I went there to do my job. After several minutes of trying to explain Ms. ******* became increasingly loud and began to use foul language. At that point I asked her to leave the building. After refusing I told her I would have to call the police if she didn't. This was witnessed by guests, a camera, the front desk agent and the housekeeping manager. I then left the desk to deescalate the situation. Ms. ******* continued her tirade in front of others ending with her screaming the derogatory term "*****" to describe me.
Ms. ******* has threatened me with lawsuits and written several slanderous negative reviews using my name. At this point it has become obsessive harassment and defamation.
