On September 18th I signed contracts with NewBold Service, a recruiting agency for ********, to work as a Janitor on 2nd shift. I wasn’t expecting what unethical treatment I would later receive at the plant located at **** ****** ****** ** ************* ***
At ********, they say they are committed to ethical and sustainable practices to protect the planet and people; give back to the community; provide a safe, diverse, and healthy workplace; and engage our associates in these efforts.
I signed paperwork that detailed we would:
    1. Empty trash carts and replace liners
    2. Collect trash from designated cans
    3. Dump trash in compactors
    4. Operate compactors
    5. Clean bathrooms
Upon arrival for work, Lewis, our Supervisor, directed me to the basement machines which were leaking tar into buckets that had pads under them catching the leakage. Our job was to change out the pads underneath the buckets. Occasionally, extra work would include cleaning up sewer leaks as well.
Needless to say, this was the bait and switch.
Other employees explained there was an increase in pay from $13 to $14 for this particular skillset. I worked doing this for more than a week, even working extra hours. On September 26th I went in for overtime and to question my Supervisor about the increase in pay for working with the tar. He explained that the overtime was not approved and that there would be no increase in pay. He was openly hostile and told me to go home. The next day I was told not to come in. I asked about my ppaycheck due and was told that I couldn't be paid because my I-9 information wasn't available, even though it was initially submitted to the recruiter during orientation. ******** is currently withholding my pay without cause. Possibly the worst part is that they had myself and another colleague inhaling toxic fumes and being exposed to tar for hours
It has now been several weeks and calls to the Fayetteville office and 800#s. Still no pay.
