I was attempting to get a loan from this company. They stated I need to pay $350 to prove I could handle the loan. They then came back and told me I had to pay insurance $300. I sent them both amounts. Today I was to get my loan and they came I need to pay another 498. I told them I could not pay and to refund the $650 I had given them. They tell me I cant get it back. Never was that told to me in the beginning. I want the money I paid in good faith.Business Response

I believe this business is running a spam they call themself Advance America they use this phone number 1 850 *** **** I think they are using other company name. The call is coming from Santa Rosa Beach, FL. It started about a week ago around July 20, 2022 when I try getting a loan I request 2,000 in the mean time I notice on they website they didn't list a phone number on their website just the number they call from. I started trying to get a loan on line and these people call. I thought something was odd because they didn't have to sign nothing
just wanted to get my bank account routing number and account number. They told me the loan will be disposit into my account in 48 hours, but that didn't happen which is today 7/27/2022. A man claiming his name Michael J****** claiming I had to wait couple more days to fit a problem with my bank it was excuses after excuses. I notice he told me probably Monday before they can fit the problem I said to myself thats when I get my check direct disposit. It was just something strange about this hope they don't take my money . Hope you can look into this for me.

On July I applied for a $5,000 loan through Advance America. I never got the loan. They asked me for my debit card info which I gave them in order to get the loan. They then said I needed to send these different people money then I would get the loan. All of a sudden money showed up in my bank account I thought they had put the money in my account but actually they fraudulently filed claims through my bank account. Now I have to pay those claims back. Again I never got the loan. I was ripped off.Business Response

This company got my fiance on the phone because i had been looking for possible loans to help with my new move... these pos's talked her fully into providing our banking information and other specifics. They then proceeded to deposit over 500 in this account we had made together... they were asking that we return it to them as "insurance" via gift cards purchasable at nearby gas stations..."vouchers" these scammers called it. Long story short a stop payment was done on the deposit a full 24+ hours after and it made our account negative but the entire time we literally had no clue... our passwords had been changed and all... we got scammed!!! Stay safe out there and research everyone twice!!!Business Response

A person posing as Advance America employee is a fraud. This business is engaging in the scam known as the ADVANCED FEE LOAN SCAM. It is against Federal Law to require payment in advance for granting a loan.
In an effort to apply for a personal loan, a Ben W****** (at ************) told me that $931.18 was deposited into our bank’s joint checking account. My wife was directed to go to Walmart, see the person behind the “Help Desk,” and take the money back out of our account and scan it into the bar code he sent into a message on her IPhone.
She went to the “Help Desk” with Wallace on the phone. When the Walmart associate heard the request the first time, she looked at the phone incredulously then asked him to repeat himself. She then told him he was a thief and scam artist and hung up. The woman told my wife to go home and change all our security settings, bank accounts, everything! She said these people have a way of taking everything a person has! My wife left the store, and did as she was advised.
I received a call from this Wallace who threatened that my social security No. had been frozen, and our checking account had been blocked. Then I recieved an email [[email protected]] on 6/22/2022 at 5:36 PM that indicated I was being charged for money laundering and there was a pdf attachment which was a warrant for my arrest by the Thornton, Colorado Police Department.
We contacted the police department and they replied this was a “common scam.” We closed our bank checking account, applied for a new checking account and ABA account Nos., changed our bank password, cut up our bank credit and debit cards, and applied for new ones with new pins. In that time, my weekly paychecks kept being returned and our creditors that used directed deduction had their payments bounce - including our monthly mortgage payment. These actions adversely affected my credit score by over 100 points. I expect the company to clear my name.Business Response

I was attempting to receive a loan I was informed I qualified to receive a loan for $3000. I then received a deposit in my ***** account in the amount of $2000. I was then informed I had to go to a ******** or *** near me and deposit the $2000 back into an account. I was hesitant something did not seem right. At which point I decided to wait to the following day. At some point I tried to get into my online account and was rejected all awhile I was receiving harassing messages and phone calls. I tried to reach out to my bank and was told the phone number on my account was changed as well as all my banking info. The next day July 14 I proceeded to my bank where I was told there was an investigation on my account and I no longer can do anything on said account after 10 years plus of having this account where my social security check goes in direct deposit. I then called and spoke to a Mr Roger F**** and informed him of the situation where he then wanted me to lie and say I had made these changes. I informed him I would not and he stated that he would not be able to help me. I informed Mr.F**** I would be contacting Better Business Bureau and he informed me that they could do nothing because I applied for the loan . I am appalled that someone can be treated this way when just trying to survive and make ends meet.Business Response
