I had a deposit on my account. The oringinal order was in 2019. Waiting almost 3 years I cancelled my previous order and tried to order another item. Well isn't it amazing my deposit disappeared. Through e-mail back and forth First I was told my credit card was refunded, which it wasn't. Then I was told it was a restocking fee of 20%. I said ok the item that was supposedly returned to "stock" was maybe $60 that would be $12, but what was left on my deposit was $32. Then he cancelled my order and never returned any money and said my card was refunded again. He will write something about store rules which is nonsense. My advice to anyone doing business with them DONT. Otherwise your deposit will disappear also. If there is a dispute about the progression of e-mails between myself and his business I still have them all.

Mr. ******* did not have a deposit on file it was used back in 2019. This was explained to the customer that we refunded to his credit card back on 09/08/20 to a now expired credit card at that time. So his **** card from that time has his money. We advised him to contact **** and to check his statements from that time since our records so the refund and he has not offered any proof to dispute that.

I did have a deposit on 9-8-2020 I sent him proof through e-mail because it was on his receipt from his business He sent me an engine and used most of the deposit on file except the $32. I still have this receipt which shows the deposit still on file. I have called the Visa card twice again, they never received a credit from Blue Ridge Hobbies, also he has not offered any proof that he did it. Buyer beware..

Company pretends to be retail store, but they a drop shipper that has no clue of what their actual inventory is. So a product will show as available when in fact they have no idea. They don't give you shipping charges because "they don't know" , in actuality they are going to hose you on the shipping charge.
    The scam here is this.
Their website lists some hard to find item, and you order it from them. Their prices seem cheap so you maybe order a bunch of minor stuff to fill out the order. They "might" send you a email saying that the rare item is not in stock. If they do send an email, and you try to cancel the rest of the order they charge you 20% "restocking fee" for stuff they didn't even have in stock to begin with.
If they didn't send you an email about the out of stock item (which happened to me), they then ship all of the smaller stuff you didn't really want to begin with, with a shipping charge that is eye blistering. Keep in mind, he has none of these items in stock because he is a drop shipper.
When you call/contact/email about problems with any of the above he points you to his TOS, and claims he legally gets to steal from you.

Now the truth, This person was a new customer and did not read any of the information we supply on our website. Currently the BRH retail is closed due to a move to a new location as noted on our website. The retail store (there are pictures on the website) has been in operation since 2005! BRH does not have a retail store inventory listed on our website, only the products available at our suppliers (wholesalers and manufacturers) which is about 130,000 items. A 1,200sf retail store can not possibly hold that much product! Again, as noted on our website. The website product database is a combination of all of the wholesalers and manufacturers and is updated at 8am each weekend from information we receive from them each morning. It is a static list. Most of the time there are no issues with product availability changes throughout each day and if something changes the customers are notified by email. In the case of this customers first order on 10/12/22 the North Pole train 2016 version and ordered another item he ordered but both items where sold out and not available at 10:58pm and the order was subsequently cancelled before 11:59pm. Then on 10/15/22 customer placed another order for a 2017 version of the same item at 3:24pm along with another item that was available and again the 2017 version was sold out by that time of day. Customer was notified again but no communication from the customer. On 10/16/22 a second order was placed and all items where available. So as of 10/16/22 one item from the 10/15 order and all items from the 10/16 where transmitted to the wholesaler for shipment and sorting at BRH. THIS IS NOT A DROP SHIP. BRH IS NOT A DROP SHIPPER! The items listed on our website and product search page are not hard to find items, they are the current availability of items from our 350 manufacturers and 3 wholesalers that are available via their locations at 8am each weekday as stated on our store policy page. Our prices are deeply discounted due to the high volume of purchases from our sources. Customer advised he ordered a bunch of "minor stuff" to fill out the North Pole items but there was no need to do that as these items met our minimum order requirement. So, without the customer padding order two, it would have cancelled automatically. Customer was emailed via our shopping cart email on both out of stock items per each order. Customer also is sent initial order confirmations as well. The situation with customer trying to cancel the open orders occurred on 10/16/22 at 1023pm on Sunday when he sent an email to BRH via our customer service email, He would have received an automated response that order cancellation must be done via telephone during normal business hours to receive a cancellation number per store policy which the customer stated he read via 3 different orderes. He did not and still has not called. As for the 20% restock fee. Since the items in stock items where transmitted for fulfillment to the wholesaler already, BRH could not remove these items from the large order (with other BRH customers) per wholesaler policy. So these items would be shipped to BRH and now would have to be returned to the wholesaler at BRH's expense, thus, per store policy as follows: 7. Order cancellations must be done verbally by the originator of the order (the person on the order), during our normal business hours. No emails or voice mails will be accepted effective April 12, 2012. You will need to receive an OXL or XLN number to confirm your order cancellation. The is a minimum fee of 4% to cancel an order to cover credit card processing fees that have not been received buy BRH or are on their (already shipped to) BRH when a deposit was needed. 8. Items canceled with an OXL or XLN number will be charged a 20% restock fee or a 50% restock fee for items returned to Blue Ridge Hobbies without a OXL or XLN number for items already received by Blue Ridge Hobbies, Blue Ridge Hobbies shipped to or in the process of being shipped to Blue Ridge Hobbies but not yet received from a supplier, manufacturer or other source, hold bin items not yet paid for, shipping fees for product from the supplier, manufacturer or other source effective April 12, 2012.
So, yes, for this situation a 20% restock fee would be needed.
If the customer really did not want the “stuff” to begin with, then why place a third order of “stuff” he did not want!?!?!? Customer claims the that “shipping charge was eye blistering”. No shipping charges have been quoted or charged. And if there where shipping charges, they are a pass through cost from the **** or *****. BRH does not mark up the cost of shipping.
Customer states: “Keep in mind, he has none of these items in stock because he is a drop shipper. When you call/contact/email about problems with any of the above he points you to his TOS, and claims he legally gets to steal from you.”
Again, BRH is not a drop shipper, customer did not call and there where no problems. And, BRH has not claimed we can steal from him!
In the email communications from customer to our customer service email this person used profanity several times and was bullying in his tone.
As a new customer, per store policy, BRH charge his credit card for the in stock items prior to ordering from the wholesaler. This is done with every new customer to prevent fraud. Despite all of this, BRH refunded the customer the deposit / pre shipping charge to his credit card, with the 20% restocking fee on 10/17/22 prior to BRH being made aware of this review!
So, the customer has nothing to complain about!

You list items on your website as "In Stock" when you don't know. You don't know, because you don't have a store. You essentially take people's money for a product you don't have, and then hide behind a TOS when confronted about it.
When I see vulgarity I call it out.
And in my opinion, you are a vulgar human preying on the populace.
As an aside, I have been contacting vendors about your behavior and received some interesting responses. One of the largest model train companies contacted me back essentially saying they know about you and how you operate, but can do nothing because they can't control the distributors.
Let that soak in. One of the largest model train manufactures want to shut you out for your crappy business practices but can't.
