In summary, I withdrew from a subpar school along with 8 other students in a class of 16 and we were given promissory notes for refunds with specific amounts within 30 days and 3 months later 5 of us have not received the full refunds we were promised in writing.

I personally was promised 2,747.20 refund in writing and only received 1,474.00. I am requesting the 1,273.20 that was promised to be delivered to me by 11/19/23 and an additional $300 for this trouble ($100 for every month not paid as promised) totaling $1,573.20.

The claimant did receive the correct refund amount due. There was a miscalculation made on the promissory she received, which was corrected and the corrected amount (per CHE regulation 62-18) was refunded. The negative statements mentioned by the complainant in the supporting documentation are malicious, abusive exaggerations and untruths, as well as derogatory in all regards.

The Carolina School of Massage has a 4.83 star rating from 554 reviews on various social media platforms. Over the past 15 years, hundreds of our students have graduated and went on to successful therapy careers. There are currently two classes (day and evening) on track and ready to graduate in two months, (one class of which the claimant was a student.) We have already received requests by employers wanting to hire our students upon graduation.

If needed we can provide photos of our facility(including classrooms), statements from past and current students, instructors and our management team. We feel the complaints are unwarranted and damaging to our school and to potential students seeking a massage therapy career through our school. We are proud of our students and our school and will continue to offer the highest quality educational services. Feel free to contact us for any further details regarding this claim and we hope this can be resolved in a timely manner. Thank you.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

They are bound by the promissory note they signed. They cannot later claim to have made an accounting error for multiple people and just not pay. It was not “corrected.” They owe what they promised in writing and what I signed I accepted when I withdrew.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 21213337, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

You put in writing the amount you were paying me when I withdrew. You cannot claim to have made accounting errors for 6 different people when 3 employees were involved in that process. You are bound to the promissory note. You don't just get to say it was "corrected" after the fact because you don't want to pay.

    Regards,
