    I contacted the company in late November 2024 about damage I received to my chimney cap and gas fireplace during the recent hurricane that went through our area. I told them I was just looking for an estimate for repairs to send to insurance company. I was very understanding they would be busy and the earliest they could be out was 4/21. When they arrived they did a complete inspection of my fireplace and chimney and said they would send estimate as soon as they could. I have emailed twice ( once on 3/4 and on 3/30 ) to see when I would receive the estimate to present to my insurance company. They have billed me 439.88 for a full inspection with at least 5 different reminders but still to this day 4/3 I still haven’t received on estimate.
    All I have on my chimney is a tarp that is keeping rain and animals out of my attic. I have wasted 6 weeks of my time waiting on this estimate when I could’ve had someone else repair these damages.
    I have a company coming out this weekend to replace my chimney cap ( just called them on Monday) and I’m lining up another company to replace my gas fireplace. I don’t feel I should be paying for something I haven’t received and at this point I don’t feel I should have to pay it at all. I was informed that they are only in office on Thursdays to write up estimates and they were out on training for most of the month of March. These things were never told to me up front or I might have just moved passed this company and found someone else.

    In early 2022 I contacted Chim Cheree [hereafter CC] asking for a quote on installing a stainless steel liner in my existing chimney. David, owner of CC, said he first had to inspect the chimney. I told David a different company had inspected the chimney less than a year earlier and offered to forward the report, but he said he could not offer a quote on installing a liner without being satisfied the chimney was in good condition. ALL OF THIS I UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED.

    CC scheduled an appointment, inspected the chimney, gave me a report, and I paid $375. I then called CC asking for the quotation on installing the stainless steel liner. And I called. And I called. And I spoke to the office assistant. And I left messages. Over and over without receiving a response from David or CC regarding the chimney liner, WHICH WAS THE ONLY REASON I CONTRACTED WITH CC IN THE FIRST PLACE.

    I have paid $375 for an inspection I did not need and I cannot get a response from Chim Cheree regarding the original purpose of the engagement. Finally about a week ago, I requested a refund of $375 but I have heard nothing from CC.

    Shortly after I received your email stating the merchant (Chim Cheree) failed to respond to my complaint, the company contacted me directly.  The dispute has now been resolved to my satisfaction.
