I found ****** Fencing through an app called Thumbtack. The app is to assist homeowners with contractors. After a look at the fence and providing an estimate, Mr ****** was hired to replace 4 areas of fencing. Mr ****** and his great-nephew arrived at my home on or about October 9th to Begin work on the fence. They worked approximately 3 hours. They returned the next day to complete the job and was finished in approximately 3 hours as I received a call approximately 11:10 a.m. They arrived approximately 8:30 a.m. on Oct 10. Mr ****** called to inform he was done and wanted to meet at my home for payment. I arrived, took a brief walk around the fence with Mr. ****** citing obvious inconsistencies. Mr. ****** agreed to redo those areas within two weeks. I paid Mr ****** $1,296. Though more than I should have paid, he was available to begin immediately. After arriving home the next day, I walked along the fence citing additional issues. These include Jagged edges from blunted cuts, uneven pickets, spacing where anyone could see through which minimize privacy fencing- the purpose for the fence. Moreover there were uneven pickets, slanted and poor symmetry in boards, variance in spacing and Gates not supported as it leans and touches the ground, hinges that are or inappropriate for the project , uneven and or too large and misplaced along the fence. Mr ****** also attached my fence to the neighbors without mine or the neighbors permission. I've asked for Corrections and I'm met with "send me a list". Mr ****** claim to have returned to the home to repair several pickets however no change was noticed. This was a fast and shoddy job. Visitors and passers by ask about the fence and its appearance. This is embarrassing. I've asked for a total refund. Mr ****** is refusing to cooperate. Mr ****** understands that he's no longer allowed on the property. He added, "I'm sorry you feel that way".

we asked for a detailed punch list but he wouldn’t provide one. After going back once and not being provided a punch list we didn’t know what he wanted.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

    Regards,

    ***** *****

Mr D***** is not being honest about our conversation. From the beginning, I detailed issues with the fencing. To offer him an itemized list wasn't necessary. Mr D***** supposedly 'repaired the fence'. He should know better than anyone the work he showed wasn't to standard. Every email and picture showed issues with the fence. I have included the most recent email where after BBB and mention of court he now sees the issues. (Admission of guilt?) This is no longer an option. I rather have someone reputable complete the project. I will accept $800 as a refund for the labor. While he retains the remainder for the supplies. Some of the supplies used was from the older fencing. I will receive the said offer as resolved and Mr D***** can restore his reputation of fairness.
