  I wouldn't even rate them 1 star. Bought my house as the second owner (2 years after house was built) and it has been one problem after the next. First, numerous plumbing issues costing me up to $10K. I have a belly in the plumbing and they refuse to fix it which is another at least ~$20K. Another home in the subdivision had this same issue and fixed it, but they refuse to fix my home. A short while later, I already have to replace my breaker box (over $7K in fixes). Breaker boxes should last 25-40 years, theirs hasn't lasted 4 years just for reference... I have called numerous times about the plumbing issue since SK has an 8 year warranty and it is impossible to get ahold of them. When I have been able to reach them, rather than taking the blame they blame the homeowner (me). I have not even pursued reaching out to them about the electrical box since it will be a waste of time like it was with the plumbing issue. I absolutely regret buying this house and will never buy another house built by SK. Save your money and sanity and go to a builder who cares more about doing the job right than lining their pockets with money.

  Upon reviewing your case, we found that the items in question were unfortunately outside the warranty period at the time of the issue. Our warranty manual clearly outlines the specific items and conditions that are covered under our one year and 8-year warranty policies. The 8-year warranty only applies to structural defects, which do not include plumbing and electrical items. Additionally, the damaged draining system reported was determined to be a result of negligence, and the breaker box was hit by a storm surge from Hurricane Helene, as evidenced by the documents you provided to our warranty department. Our warranty manual clearly states that negligence and acts of God are not warrantable items.
  We understand that this may be frustrating, but we want to ensure that all our customers are fully informed about the terms of the warranty.   I do not understand how you are rating them A.
  We have been trying to get items repaired 2 years after closing. At times we would get a manager that would get some repairs done, then they would leave the company. Another would come in and do the same. We closed 2 years ago and we have worked with 4 managers.
  
  The current new warranty manager now has completed a few items and has the nerve to call them all extras, like he is doing us a favor. Mentions it has been 2 years, well that is what really stinks. We started this dance before our 1 year, have been patient and now being spoken to like we were asking too much. Not one person through this process has thanked us for our patience.
  There are people in our neighborhood that have given up and will now pay for repairs which is unacceptable.
  
  We have a neighborhood of these stories. Stay clear don't let it happen to you.
  
  Lastly, they had some issues with septic drain fields and size of homes they could build. They built one home in the neighborhood so small and terrible floor plan that they could not sell it. We just found out they have now put it up for rent. Well thanks SK!
  
  
  We like the fact this was a local builder but apparently this local family does not care about the service they are providing. Find another builder!!

Our warranty representatives completed all warrantable items that were submitted into our warranty portal and a few additional items that were non-warrantable were also completed as a courtesy.   Not worth one star. We purchased our home September 2022, had the 1-year warranty review with a list of things, including a bulging floor and a post holding up our screened porch that was approximately 1 to 1.25 inches ABOVE the top of the concrete filling the hole for the post. I sent pictures and called repeatedly. No response. The flooring company said it wasn't a flooring problem but a floor problem (bulging floor). They reported back to SK - no response. This builder isn't worth a first look.

  The worst company to pick for your home building process. All they do is lie & give you the run around about things that is supposed to be done within a signed contract. I’m currently seeking a lawyer for pain and suffering as well as discrimination. Tyler is a liar as well as his supervisor Chris I thought Tyler was bad @ keeping his word but the apple don’t fall far from the tree. I keep calling the office and leaving messages with no response. Brian is over Chris but he never calls back and they give you trouble with transferring you to his office line and when I go up there they always saying he in a meeting. It’s just a lot of bullshit with them. They don’t deserve our hard earned money. They don’t deserve to get our business. So if you looking to build and SK is involved RUN for the hills

  Not even worth 1 star.. Purchased our home from SK in April of 2022. Go ahead and save yourself the headache and not deal with this builder!! Have had issues after issues and SK gives no attention or response to the problems they neglected to address up front. We have had a roof leak due to the moving of our furnaces in the attic that were not to code. SK forgot to cap the holes in the roof so for months these allowed water to come in. Had to threaten a lawyer and stay on top of them for weeks to get someone to even bother coming out. Was told the issue was “fixed”. Flash forward 10 months later and now we have water in our electrical line setting off our smoke detector and a large water ring around the same area. Have contacted them for weeks to get someone out to look at the issue but SK can’t be bothered. Don’t waste your money.. save yourself the headache and FIND A BETTER BUILDER!!

  SK Builders is the worst. I wouldn't recommend anybody to build a home through SK. If SK is involved run. I closed on my home Nov 29th 2023. There were small things that I was told that would be fixed and wasn't. They told me they would do a 2 week warranty walk through and that never happened. They came out on Dec 5th 2023 to replace a piece on my front door and said someone would be back out that Friday to paint the door. Its now Jan 9th and my front door is 2 different colors because they didn't come back to paint. Today Jan 9th I came home to now water damage in the master bathroom from the ceiling. SK builders have no care in the world about the homes they are building. They are just putting homes up to make money and leaving folks who have worked hard in very difficult situations. Its disgusting and unfair. I have found so many things wrong since I moved in. These people really need an eye opener. They wouldn't want this done to them or their families. I wouldn't even allow a wild animal to stay in sk build home. At this point Im really afraid my whole house will fall apart by these careless, greedy, money hungry people.

  We built with SK and continue to have problems with flooding on our back porch and back yard. It is a health concern and structural concern. I told Joy P*** several times about the flooding concerns. She had zero interest in our concerns. When the one year warranty came up, they put a coat on top of the back patio, ''a bandaid'', and now it's just chipping b/c of the water that sits back there. I would not recommend SK to anyone b/c once you sign your paperwork, and they get their money, they do not care about your concerns at all...whether it is structural or health hazards. I will be contacting *** ******* * and DHEC as well. We have lived here for two years now and they haven't lost any sleep over this. Buyers beware!!!

  This builder is not reputable. We advise anyone looking at any developments that this builder is a part of to look elsewhere. Their work is subpar all they care about is making the sale and getting the closing done as fast as possible. We have had nothing but problems with the new home we purchased from SK and their realtor ******* ******, two companies we will never do business with again. The workmanship is poor at best they contract out to unprofessionals. I am surprised the houses even pass bidding codes. DO NOT BUY AN SK built home. We have heard from several people about how bad this company is. We tell every prospective buyer we see coming into our neighborhood not buy these homes. To date we have helped over six prospective buyers from not making the same mistake we made. We will continue to inform any that comes through the neighborhood not to buy here and let them know all the issues we have had with the poor quality of an SK built home.
