Early July, I was initially solicited by a door-to-door salesman by the name of Adam H. Fine gentleman, we spoke for a while and he explained to me Vinx's process. I signed up for a series of pest control services and was told that I was being given a reduced price for agreeing to do the subscription. When I was asked when we could run the first round of pest control outside of my home, I told Adam that I wanted to wait until the end of August or early September because I was starting a new job and had recently moved back into my house and done some repairs. He stated that he understood and scheduled it for late August. I got a call about a week or 2 later from a young lady asking me to pay for a balance due. I told her that I did not have a balance because service hadn't been done yet and that I wanted to cancel the scheduled service and the subscription. She said ok and that was the end of the call. Today, 9/17/24, I got a call from Vinx, and a gentleman named Edgar calls to say that I have a balance 46 days past due. I stated that his information is incorrect because I never had service done. Allegedly, they came out to service my house on August 2nd and that I spoke to someone to "reschedule" the service on August 3rd. I do not owe VINX a balance and I expect my account to be closed immediately upon receipt of this complaint. SHADY BUSINESS TACTICS should not be tolerated by anyone!

I was dealing with a raccoon in my attic for weeks that was above my bedroom, keeping me awake all night and slowly scratching through the dry wall. Eventually the raccoon affected the electrical power to my bedroom and I couldn't get an electrician to fix this issue until the animal was gone. I contacted Vinx Pest Control and said I needed someone immediately before the animal made it into my house and also because I didn't have power and when my appointment came no one came, and no one called to cancel. I called and expressed the severity of the situation and after many conversations they had someone come out a few days later. The man just set up a trap in the attic, put my own dogs food in it, and didn't even look around. I kept hearing the raccoon for days and continued to call requesting someone come back and help. Random people showed up two times to just look at the cage - not adjusting anything, not looking around - and left even with me in tears. At this point I had been charged over $500 and was getting charged every time someone showed up at the house so I was trying to make the situation work. On the last visit the man took the cage without anything being resolved and that night the raccoon ripped the soffit off my roof and damaged the drywall in my bedroom. I hadnt been able to sleep for weeks and didn't have power. Finally I had to call another company who showed up and with one look said there was a baby in my attic and that is why the raccoon continued to come back. He educated me that they NEVER put the cage in the attic as its unsafe to trap an animal in someone's home, they place it outside and check the cage. The issue was addressed that day. I called Vinx several times for a refund given no service was provided and I was charged such a large sum and I couldn't even get someone on the phone. I had to REPEATEDLY call to finally be able to get in touch with a manager weeks later. He had to apology, no explanation, and refused a refund.

    Business Response

This customer called in for same day service and when we arrived we explained to the customer that we could not service the home the proper way with it being a town home we could not seal up any entry points.

the customer was in tears and asked if we could at least set a trap for the raccoon so she could have her light fixed once it was caught. We explained the trapping would not be guaranteed and the entire complex needed to be sealed up. She insisted that we set a trap that day so we agreed on a price and set a trap.

we Preformed 3 follow up check with no luck. Our service manager Devin came out on the last visit and witnessed the raccoon running out of the attic so he did seal 1 entry point as a courtesy.

Over one month passes after the last follow up and the customer is now requesting a full refund.

This customer called in for same day service and when we arrived we explained to the customer that we could not service the home the proper way with it being a town home we could not seal up any entry points.

This is false. I had an existing appointment and no one came and no one called. When I set up the initial appointment I was asked what type of home, I indicated townhome, and I was told this would be fine. I was finally able to set up the next appointment came I called multiple times and after hours was directed to someone else to set up another appointment. Again no one came and I finally got the manager to agree to come out as days had passed and the raccoon had eaten through my electrical (I had no electricity on the second floor of my home where I sleep and eat) and the electrician couldn't fix until the issue was addressed.

the customer was in tears and asked if we could at least set a trap for the raccoon so she could have her light fixed once it was caught. We explained the trapping would not be guaranteed and the entire complex needed to be sealed up. She insisted that we set a trap that day so we agreed on a price and set a trap.

This information is false as well. I was not in tears and no such information was given to me. I was told they would be back in a few days to pick up the racoon.

we Preformed 3 follow up check with no luck. Our service manager Devin came out on the last visit and witnessed the raccoon running out of the attic so he did seal 1 entry point as a courtesy.

3 different people came by to check the trap at my insistence given I could hear the raccoon begin burrowing through my drywall in my ceiling. I was charged every single time they came and they did nothing but look at the trap even though I repeatedly asked them to try something different. I finally called another company who came by and under one inspection I was told that it is not proper protocol to set a trap inside, and that there was a raccoon baby inside and that is why the mom continued to come back. After one visit from another company the issue was resolved.

Dealing with Vinx absorbed weeks of my time. I also spent weeks trying to get ahold if them to ask why I was charged given the issue had not been resolved by them and no one would call me back. This is why you see the time that passed before involving the better business bureau.

Thank you again for the help and please feel free to let me know if I can provide any additional information thank you!
