Mason T*****, owner and operator at The Cart Shop MB, Knowling sold my my family a golf cart that did not work. Once we got it home and had the golfcart motor inspected (within 24 hours of having the golf cart) by a local dealer we were told the motor would need to be replaced. We notified Mason at The Cart Shop of the situation he refused to issue a refund and take the golfcart back.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/11/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/11/03) */ ***** and his wife ******* purchased the gas golf cart from me on a Sunday. Drove it fine, loved the cart, decided to buy it. Received a call on the following Tuesday it was giving him issues. He lives 2 hours from me, so I recommended him having someone look at it and see what it may be. Next I hear from Jesse was him furious because the shop threw $550 worth of parts at it and concluded that it was a bad motor with bad compression. I disagreed with the conclusion and wanted a second opinion from a small engine mechanic. He was not interested in doing that and wanted another one of our inventory. I told jesse that I wasn't willing to trade out another piece of inventory until we were quoted to fix the current cart and get it fixed. Jesse's wife was furious and did not want to fix it. She wanted a new one. Said she wanted a golf cart to ride now and didn't want to wait on it getting fixed. I offered numerous solutions with me trying to fix it, but she didn't trust me. Wouldn't take the time for another shop to fix either. I told her I was willing to pay $1000 towards repairs, and then ended up raising that number to $1300 which was sent as proven by a Venmo transfer. She was quoted $1700 from a shop to install a COMPLETE new motor. Not fix that issue at hand.. which would have been significantly cheaper. Mind you, when this golf cart left my shop it ran perfect, didn't smoke, made no odd noises, nothing. So I was a bit perplexed when I received the call saying there were issues. Losing compression in a motor is 100% of the time accompanied by issues such as Smokey exhaust and other clues. Attached is a bill of sale stating that my used carts do not carry any kind of warranty or guarantee, that ***** happily signed on day of purchase. I tried my best to do right. They were nearly impossible to please. I have talked to ***** 14 times over the phone with numerous texts trying to resolve the issue. And none of that was ever enough. I'm also not sure what happened during the days they had the cart. I received a message the day of buying that they were out "cruising" and enjoying the cart. To then be told on the following Tuesday they didn't drive it even a mile. I was also confused when they sent me an invoice from shop "A", to then being told it was at shop "B", to possibly being at another. So while trying to help get it fixed, I believe I was being lied to about who was actually looking at and diagnosing issues with the cart
