We are writing this complaint to make the public aware of how this company is operating. We booked a trip through third party that was not booked through Palmera Resort, however, we were charged a $150 fee that would not come off until we attended another sales meeting! I was told that the third party company (vacation services international) was going to buy my current timeshares one for $15,000 and the other for $3,000 freeing me up to make the purchase with Palmera. We have already at the time had 2 timeshares with Great Eastern Resort and were not interested nor can afford to buy another. We have been wanting to get rid of these, not adopt another. They said they had a third party company that would resell the timeshare and that's how they made their money. We were under the impression we were selling both of our other two timeshares with Massanutten and Wilderness and we’d be pocketing money. The entire sales meeting was super rushed and high-pressureed. It was a very stressful experience. We now know we were lied to about all of it and ended up signing up for a third contract with Palmera! We are now stuck in a horrible nightmare. We never would have signed a contract with this company had we known they were lying about taking our previous timeshares.We were lied to in order to push us into this contract. We deserve to be released from all obligations immediately as this company did not hold up their end of the deal. We have reached out to this company already and our requests have been denied. entered into a Purchase Agreement with Palmera Vacation Club on April 26, 2022.
On that date they also arranged a listing with their Woodstone and Wilderness
Presidential Resorts. This was arranged to be handled with an outside,
unaffiliated company, Vacation Services International.
The Members acknowledged
eight clauses on that form that clearly read statements such as "I have
not been given any guarantee, or any assurance of any type, regarding whether
my timeshare will sell".
It was also acknowledged
by *** *** **** ****** that "the purchase of the Travel Club Membership
is a completely separate from, and is in no way contingent upon, my entering
into any agreement with Vacation Services International for the sale of my
existing timeshare".
While we do not know if
The Ermolds have contacted the outside agency, VSI, as their contact
information was provided, we have received no communication from them regarding
this issue. Their loan payments and Membership Dues were to begin, as
scheduled, in July and no monies have been received to date. Their request to

I own a timeshare with ***** ***** ****** through Elite Resort Group, and it has been nothing
but an unnecessary and constant financial burden. I have contacted Elite Resort Group several
times to discuss my situation and reach a contract cancellation, but they lack the customer
service skills to answer me. This entire process has been anything but easy and fair to me. My
situation has changed drastically since my husband’s passing, but they only care about keeping
me trapped in this contract. I’ve fought them since June 2017, including another BBB complaint
I made in 2020. Four years of certified mail, emails, online “live” chats, online forms, and phone
calls have been consumed by this stress, and they don’t have the decency to return an email.
Elite Resort Group must train their employees to be bullies because I’ve been through several
reps and supervisors, and all of them have been rude, obnoxious, demeaning, and dismissive. It
only got worse after I lost my husband. They’ve always been given more than ample time to
respond. It’s completely unacceptable. He was a veteran who died of a terminal illness, which is
how he is repaid. He was on disability, and we have only been able to use it once. He was my
travel partner for life, and I don’t want to do any traveling after losing him. Despite this, the
mortgage is paid off, and there’s no way I can sell this on my own. You can find ERG timeshares
on eBay for a penny; hardly the investment they make it out to be. I need SOMEONE to help me
do something that will lead to cancellation because I am tired of being told my struggles and
feelings don’t matter when there’s money to be made. I’m not going away, and I’m more than
willing to go through the foreclosure process they’ve been threatening me to do for YEARS.Business Response

We were pushed to sign a contract with your company when we were given a weekend stay at ***** ***** if
we listened to a presentation. During the process, we were shown a unit and told that it would be our unit for
the week, when we chose to use our week. There was some pressure in talking with the salesperson and we
said we were not interested. They brought in the manager who eventually lowered the price. They convinced us
to buy it by saying golf would be free and we could bring our family.
When we have tried to book this property, it is always unavailable. We can never stay at this property.
Obviously, since we have never been, we have no clue as to how the units look now and even how they are
maintained.We are in our eighties and can no longer drive 8 hours to Hilton Head and because of the increased
maintenance fees, it is hard to pay the fees on a fixed income. Our family is not interested in this timeshare so,
that leaves us with no options. Selling this timeshare on our own is not a feasible way out. We sent a letter to
ths company with our concerns. We were recently told our request was “denied” with no explanation. We
reached out to see if we could get a clear answers and, we are now left with months of ignored emails. We

Association for the Resort, in this case the ****** ***** ******* ***********,
and the Boards have no legal or contractual obligation to accept any
transfer. The only role that ERG has in the process is to present the
requests to the Board and to carry out their decision. In the case of the
unit owned by Ms. ******, the request was presented, and the Board
refused. ERG generally is not advised as to the reasoning one way or the

I am a very unhappy owner with Elite Resort Group. We were never able to stay at our unit. The salesman that sold this to us was also always emphasizing the resale value/investment of timeshare ownership. We have yet to see any value in this timeshare. But what ended up shocking us the most was when we got notice to pay the annual maintenance fees of over a
thousand dollars. In addition to this, I’m a disabled veteran (100%) and can’t drive long distances so I will never go to ****** ****. My wife has since passed, and I don’t want anything to do with this timeshare any longer. I just want to be resolved of any further ownership responsibility. This is to inform you that I am very unhappy with the way Elite Resort Group has handled communication, or lack thereof communication regarding my timeshare ownership. I have tried to communicate with this company regarding my ******* timeshare and have been simply ignored. The company only contacts me when they want payment but will not address the concerns at hand. I was informed by one of their representatives *****, that a response was sent to us, however, I have yet to see the response. She mentioned that our request to terminate was denied without any explanation. This is very concerning to us, as we would like to discuss this with the company in order to receive consideration as to why we are no longer wanting the timeshare.
Since having our ownership, we have encountered nothing but issues. Everything that was promised to us has not come to fruition. We were coerced into an upgrade and informed that we no longer had to deal with RCI to exchange points to be able to go to ****** ***** **. We were convinced it was a good deal, and the salesman told us if the new timeshare wasn’t working out for us within a year's time, then we could come back, and they would refund any amount paid on it. This would be given back to us in a cash amount and return the equity from the previous timeshare and transfer us back to our original timeshare. We were also instructed to contact them if we ever decided to sell because they were the only ones that could give us the original amount back. Needless to say, this was all one BIG FAT LIE!!!! We tried to cancel the upgrade, the one we were talked into purchasing but was told the time expired to cancel.
We returned to ****** ***** **, where all this originated from, only to be laughed at in our faces. We told them we wanted to be transferred back to our original timeshare and informed them of the lies that were told to us about the cash refund, all equity returned to us, being restored to the original timeshare. In my opinion this case has not been resolved because we asked to be reinstated back to the original contract that we had with the elite group we wanted to go back from the palmera RCI points that would only allow us to go to *********** resorts. And we wanted to be reinstated back to the original contract which allowed us to thank our points to RCI to be able to travel to different areas at different times and this is not what happened we ended up turning the timeshare back to them with a $2,500 cancellation fee so in my opinion no this decision has not been resolved this is not satisfactory to me nor my husband.Business Response

Contrary to the Complainants apparent understanding, they agreed to have their ********************* membership cancelled, and further insisted that their Island Links ownership be transferred out of their names as well. In fact, the Complainant signed settlement agreements that accomplished both of these. Now they claim their intent was to only cancel the ********************* membership and maintain ownership of their Island Links unit. If that was their intent, then we are puzzled why they clearly signed a settlement agreement and a deed which transferred away the Island Links unit rather than contacting us at the time. Either this was done by mistake or theyve had a change of heart. Regardless, we can consult the Association and see if we can get the Island Links unit back into their names, though based on the signed agreement, there is no legal requirement for that to happen. Our initial intent was to have ******* transfer us back to our original contract with Island links, that contract was completely paid off until they joked is into upgrading to the Palmera contract! They were not willing to transfer us back so yes we did sign a settlement which costed us an extra $2500. We are not going to pay any more money to be transferred back to Island links ! This matter is resolved but not at our approval. I will also add that the ************************* pretty much almost a year later to even acknowledge this complaint and these 2 complaints have been ignored up in til this past week or so!!! This matter is resolved on our behalf but we are not happy with it!

We have contacted Elite Resort Group multiple times and have been ignored. We would like out of our timeshare and feel we have been conveniently ignored! Emails and mailed letters have been sent, NO RESPONSE!!!! We purchased the timeshare as we were led to believe we had enough points to vacation where wanted, we later found out that additional points would need to be purchased. We were scammed into purchasing something with little value and then decided to purchase more points to fix the problem. All the while, we are just being forced out of more money with no benefit! Another example of being scammed or swindled out of the points we had to purchase was when we were able to book a 4-night stay, and a hurricane came through, and we could not travel. We tried to cancel and even reschedule it and were not allowed to since Hilton Head was not evacuated at the time. Our safety did not matter!

I informed Elite Resort Group why I no longer want to retain my timeshare. One of the main reasons is that I was lied to initially. I was informed that they would trade my timeshare for their timeshare. This never happened, along with the cash rebate that was promised. To make a long story short, I have been lied to, cheated, and ignored in this process. It has not been a good relationship with *******. I do not trust them. I would say that at some point, they have broken the law as to what they told me as opposed to what they sold me. I want nothing to do with them. I have proof of their deceitfulness. I do have handwritten notes of false promises that were made to me. I am still in possession of all the "worthless" gifts and certificates they gave me that lured me to their sales presentation. When will this company be reprimanded for its actions, I have seen way too many complaint posts with similar issues, so there is a problem that needs to be addressed.Business Response

Unfortunately, this timeshare is not the great investment that I was pressured into believing it was. It has now become a huge financial burden to me. The issue is the maintenance fees keep gradually increasing, which was never discussed with us. The personal financial hardship that I have experienced is the passing of my husband last year. My income has
drastically changed and is a fixed income now. I cannot continue to afford paying for the timeshare mortgage and maintenance fees, especially as they continue to go up. When reaching out to Elite Resort Group, they simply told me the Board of Directors denied my request and gave no reason as to why, even when I tried to ask. I just want this timeshare out of my name. It's paid off so I'm struggling to see what the problem is.Business Response
