I entered into an agreement with Mr. Young on April 19, 2023 to handle my mother’s estate. Terms of agreement were: “auctioneer agrees to keep accurate records of the auction and to furnish the seller such records upon settlement of the funds which will take place 30 days following each auction”.
Due to the volume of estate items, multiple auctions would be held with initial auction being May 6, 2023 per agreement. Future auction dates “will be scheduled on a mutually agreed to date” per signed agreement. To put scale of estate into perspective, over 3000 pieces of jewelry were given to Mr. Young along with contents of her entire home to include vintage Christmas decorations, vintage toys, clothing, crystal, collectibles, etc.
Mr. Young did conduct auction on May 6, 2023 and did provide sales inventory and financial payment for this auction. However, no further records of sales and/or financial payments have been received.
I have attempted to communicate with Mr. Young via phone calls, in person at his business, texts and emails with limited results. He stated other auctions have been held but I was not told/nor agreed to date and have not received any financial payments from said auctions.
On attachments, these are just a sample of emails I’ve sent. I have more communications.
Likewise-item listings are not all inclusive-just what received to date.

Kit Young of Lakelands Auctions was contacted 11/14/2023 to remove items from deceased fathers' home, of which I am the executor. He was responsive and arrived 11/28/23 with a small crew to pack and move items into a ***** truck. They packed over the next two days.
Kit provided a handwritten inventory of items packed with the terms of 25% commission and payment within 30days of the completion of the auction. We both signed.
Several items were left in the attic, which took repeated calls/messages to get him to return Thursday 12/28/23.

An auction was held using ******* *** December 10th for the items picked up on the 28th (advertised on his website and Facebook). There were subsequent auctions where additional items were grouped with other auctions and sold in January.

I started to follow-up with Mr. Young on the status of proceeds on:
    1/17/24, 2/14/24, 2/21/24, 3/4/24, 4/3/2024
I received a response from Mr. Young on 4/4/24 with three inventory reports but no sales prices (this matches another BBB complaint description).

I was able to speak with Mr. Young on 3/7/24 and he stated that a package was mailed (I never received) to me that contained a check and inventory paperwork (no tracking provided). He also stated that the last item in his possession was my father's Grandfather clock and that he was waiting for an estimate from a clock maker.

Mr. Young also sent a text 4/12/2024 stating “It has shipped” in reference to the check and inventory paperwork mentioned above (again never received).

My sister (heir to estate) was able to get Mr. Young to call her 4/22 and he basically stated that there were personal issues and that his assistant would get us tracking numbers the following day. An email was received but no tracking information was received.

Mr. Young has indicated that he has no intention of paying us. SC Licensing Board has also been contacted.
Emails, texts, and documents are available upon request.
    Thank you.

The auctioneer, Kit Y****, and his crew came to pickup items on April 6, 2022. There were over 300 items filling a box truck. The items were mostly sold at auction Memorial Day 2022. There has been no response from auctioneer about items sold and no money has been received for sold items. Kit Y****, auctioneer, will not return phone calls and is mostly unresponsive on email requests. The only correspondence received was an inventory of items.
