I ordered six rose bushes from Jackson & Perkins, Mother's Day gifts for my wife. I followed the directions for each, treating them all the same. Three blossomed; three died. I called Jackson & Perkins on June 14 well within the warranty period, and having given the rose bushes sufficient time to grow. I wanted replacements but the company was out of stock. I was offered a refund, which I had to accept. It is now July 18 and despite several attempts to have the refund processed via email (the company stopped answering phones for the summer), all I have received are empty promises that the refund has been processed. I plan to file in small claims court next week, suing for the refund amount, opportunity costs, and mileage. I will not file if the refund is made to my original payment method (******) this week.Customer Answer

I placed two orders to Jackson Perkins on March 31, 2023. One was for rose bushes, which I received - no problem. The second was for a physical gift certificate of $100, my CC was charged on April 2, 2023. I never received a gift certificate, not by mail, not by email. I wrote the company on April 18, and April 22, 2023 but received no response from Jackson Perkins. I spoke with my CC company, and the situation was investigated, and I was credited on May 2, 2023.
I thought the problem was solved. I reviewed my June CC Statement, and found JP charged me again, $100 on June 15, 2023. I phoned my CC company, and the customer service said either J&P had phoned me, or my CC company had phone me, and had I had not responded. Well, no one phoned and left me any voicemails, I only have one phone. ( I will deal with the Credit card company by closing my account, when this is settled.)
I emailed J&P customer service (Jarrod), again, on June 26, and received a response that the issue was resolved, but the email did not explain any resolution. I emailed again on June 28, 2023, to ask if a gift certificate was mailed, or a credit to my account was made. I still have gotten no response, and no Certificate.
Anyway, today, long story short, I still have no gift card/certificate, and J&P has charged me $100.
I tried phoning J&P (800 ********), and during the summer they don't answer phone calls. I phoned the Charge Department, and was on hold for over 12 minutes, and at 11:03AM, a recording said there were no agents to take my call, and then hung up on me.
I tried calling 864 *** **** and got Park Seed, but only got a recording and a disconnect when I tried pressing 2 for Retail.
I can't get them on the phone, and they don't return emails. I want the $100 credited to my Charge Card.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.Yesterday, July 11 at 9:36, I received the same email that JP keeps sending saying, "the request has been solved", but they don't explain how or why or when in the email. I think it is just an automated response computer program, that no one is paying attention to.
JP may have sent a reply to the BBB saying they would email a gift certificate to me in 24-48 hours. Well, it has been almost 36 hours, since the 9:36AM email I received, and still no certificate. How difficult is it to get a computer to generate a gift certificate and attach it to an email?
However, I really want my $100 credited to my card. Why would I want to do business with them again? They haven't fulfilled my order for a gift certificate since March 30, 2023. Why would I trust them now?

Better Business Bureau,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I have checked my credit card balance, and JP has made a credit to my account for the full $100.I just received an email from JP in which they have also given a merchandise credit to me. They were generous in that reguard. I was not expecting anything above and beyond crediting my credit card.
Thank you so very much for your help. It is a huge relief to have this problem resolved.

I ordered a pre-sale creeping thyme plant to be sent during proper planting season. Because I ordered it long ago, I cannot dispute the charge with my bank. The plant arrived crunchy dead. Like, incredibly dead. There was no saving it. I emailed customer service and was offered a credit. I never received the credit and when I emailed again, there has been no response. I’m incredibly frustrated and just want a refund. I do not want to purchase from this company again.Business Response

I purchased products from Jackson and Perkins online and authorized payment online. A few days later the company charged my account again without my approval for an additional .7 cents. I asked them why to would chare my card without permission. They stated it was a tax adjusted and they do this all the time. I have never experienced this from any merchant. The main point is that charged my account without permission.Business Response

I ordered plants - 8 live plants - First they overcharged me on sales tax @ 6% - Went in and took more $ on my pay pal. We are 6% and there is no tax on shipping.
I finally receive the box of dead, dried up broken plants. Unacceptable. An avid Gardner and horticulturist, I do know the difference.
I called three times, each time waiting on hold for better than 1 hour each time. They do not answer the phone.
I am out $30 for shipping for this mess. They can pick up the plants and credit me for them.Business Response

We spent ****** on plants that arrived too late in the season to survive over our winter. The order came in October, 2022. Those tender and tiny plants never had a chance to take root nor did the the bulbs. However, I waited over winter, now it's springtime... there are only a few spring blooms and no new growth for the plants, the space is empty. All I have is bare soil to show for the ******. I have reached out to the company 5 times answering all their questions. They want a photo of the plants that didn't make it. How can I send an image of something that doesn't exist? I have given them the order number and listed out all the items for them as they requested. I have not heard anything back from them. At first, I was hoping for replacements, now, I just want a refund. The refund will allow for me to go to a real nursery and purchase what we wanted or seeds to grow them myself. So very disappointed in this company. I expected better from them in so many aspects of this transaction.Business Response

I have placed two orders with Park Seed. However my Apple Card has three charges from Park Seed.
The first order was placed on 3/30/23 ************ with the total being $66.58 (I was charged $66.69). It was shipped on 3/31/23 ********* and has been received.
The second order was placed on 4/2/23 ************ with the total being $22.04 (I was charged $22.10) It was shipped on 4/5/23 ********* and has been received.
I received a third charge from Park Seed on my Apple Card on 4/6/23 for a total of $67.33, but did not place an additional order. That same day I received an email from them stating that “the order shipped, unfortunately, you may have received a shipping confirmation with the wrong tracking information. Although the tracking information is incorrect, your order will be delivered to the address you provided.”
I sent Park Seed an email on Saturday April 8,2023 stating the above information. I made a call to them on Monday, April 10,2023 and was told the first charge was a hold and would be removed. I called again on Wednesday April 10, 2023 and spoke with “Rio” and was told the “hold charge” would be removed in 24hours. I received an email from “Sonia” on April 13th stating that my ticket would be closed since I spoke with a representative. I responded that email that it had yet to be resolved. (The request number was #******). I replied to the email thread again on April 14, 2023 stating the issue has yet to be resolved and again today April 17, 2023 after another call to customer service ended with a dropped call.
Bottom line, I placed two orders and still have three charges from Park Seed on my Apple Card and would like the additional charge to be removed.Business Response

Made order on March 31. Order lost in transit on April 1. After trying to contact company for 5 days with no answer I finally got in touch on Monday April 10. Spoke to supervisor and was told they had a system crash, accounting was “backed up” and that they got it approved for refund. I haven’t received a refund yet so called back today Friday April 14 and was told refund was finally approved today. Even though I was advised the same exact thing 5 days ago.Business Response

I ordered seeds online from Park Seeds on January 2, 2023 for a cost of 70.99. I received duplicate shipments with the same order number and my credit card was billed for both shipments. I called the customer service number on 4 occasions, each time I was told to expect credit within a few days. I no longer expect that they will correct their mistake. I attached the original order, both packing slips with the documented calls and the charge on my credit card of 142.14.Business Response
