    Howard Water Systems installed a well & water filtration system in my new construction home, but never tested the water to ensure the system selected would filter out damaging materials. Initial system cost was $8,200. Immediately after moving in, it was evident that the filtration system was not working as the water was staining all bath fixtures and marble countertops. I immediately contacted Preston Howard, owner. Again, without testing the water, he recommended a Scale Remover to solve our water issues. Since he is an expert in Well systems, we hired him to install a Nelsen Scale remover system for $2,990.00. Again, it was immediately evident that this new system was not working and I contacted Howard again. He then collected a sample of water and confirmed that it had Hardness, therefore the scale remover was not working and suggested I now needed a water softener system. At this point, I decided to contact 3 other water filtration experts to ensure the next system installed would be the right one. All 3 companies determined that a different filtration system was needed after testing our water and all 3 advised the scale remover system installed was not necessary and doesn't work with our type of water. Given this, I have since signed an agreement with a different company to replace both systems installed by Howard Water Systems. I am seeking a refund for the Scale Remover system ($2,990), along with the cost to remove that system ($250) and the cost of a faucet that was damaged and replaced due to the Hard Water issue that was resident for a year ($163.33), totaling $3,403.33. Please note that I am not seeking any restitution at this moment for the original filter system that is being removed and replaced, other damages to all the shower hardware which still need to be replaced, or the marble staining which really cannot be resolved w/out a full rip and replace. I hope the BBB can assist in the recovery of damages so I can avoid small claim court.
