Contractor is advertising himself as a general/residential contractor which he is NOT. He only holds a specialty license to do flooring, carpentry, sheet rock and painting.

He has excepted $86,500 of my money to renovate an older home and we have yet (7mths) to see but $25,000 worth of improvements.

Misappropriating funds and fraud of the consumer are higher than civil accusations

The roof was taking up before the complaint. As the guy was there and nothing was done criminally, it was taken care of from the other guy. Ask stop proceeding with the roof when I receive the complaint with his no response to my text. Which I can show you. I'm still yet to receive a response. He is lying in trying to twist things and it is not appreciated. He is into something shady and I don't know what it is. But I have tried to text him and the day I'm met him. He never said anything about anything that I just needed to get the job done to his liking.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I have not changed the contract whatsoever, other than requiring the work to be 100% complete by 3/1/24. I then would pay the second payment. Upon the house passing evaluation and code “passing”, and subsequent selling of the home, the final payment would be rendered. He agreed to this concession given the state of the home due to his being significantly behind the promised schedule.

My lack of response is irrelevant because I would like him to complete the work agreed upon

What is this “shades” thing he’s speaking of ?

His crew has removed the roof, leaving the interior exposed to the weather.  No new roof is on the property.  Please refer to my most recent photos.

My agent has consistently visited the property, noting no work has been done, and work crews haven’t been present.

    I’ve retained legal representation

    Sincerely,

BBB just contacted me and said you filed complaint.? So just letting you know I'm sticking to the original contract and we will continue to work getting your house completed. This job is a 6-9 month project no matter how you look at it. I will work hard to get this project done for you. You guys don't know the amount of work that goes into these jobs and the safety, inspections, change orders etc.. I have done this work my whole life don't need people coaching how things get done. Everything has a schedule to get done. I'm sorry you are not pleased at the timeliness and will work very hard to hurry up this job for you. Roof has been started , framing is completed today (changes). Electrical will go in and then plumbing then will insulate and hang sheetrock. This will be the process. Siding will be repaired outside before insulation install. Not trying to be out the way but you guys just don't understand the process and the amount of work entailed in this job. But job will be done correctly not to cut corners to make up timeline. That's why it's inspected.
