I was referred to Bobby L****** the ****** ** *** ***** ** *** ****** ** ********* ** to do some excavator work for me on a property I own. I spoke with Mr. L***** several time over that weekend and we met on the property. Originally, he wanted to leave piles of debris in the front of the property, but I explained to him that I needed it in the back. Who would want piles of debris in front of their property? He also told me he was going to check to see if the fire ordinance had been lifted so he could burn the debris. Mr. L***** started work last Monday and I became sick with covid and couldn't meet with him after he finished. Mr. L***** was given a check last week before I could see the property because I didn't want to cheat him, and I was really sick. I never thought I would have issues with a ******* A family member went past there on Saturday and said he didn't do what he was supposed to do. I called Mr. L*****, and he said he didn't understand but for me to go down there when I was better and to call him. I was cleared from my doctor on Monday and went to the property. Mr. L***** never used an excavator, there is piles of debris still in front of the property and debris is still on the ground. I called him several times, but he refused to answer the call. He only would communicate through text. We sent several text back and forth but Mr. L***** wouldn't answer his phone. I never thought I would experience this from a man who says he is a man of **** What kind of person would take someone's money, not complete the job yet do what HE wanted to do. I have had two contractors look at the property since he finished and said he didn't know what he was doing, he used the wrong equipment and had he used the excavator which I paid for him to do, he could of saved a lot of time. I'm now out of $3,000 and still have to pay a contractor to complete a job I paid him for. I really hope you aren't defrauding your ************ the way you defrauded me.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/17/2024

On Nov. 29 I meet with ** ******* at her property to look at work she needed done. The land had been logged and she wanted to get it cleaned up to put a house. There was piles of debris everywhere that the loggers had left behind. Because of this I did not want to quote the entire job because of all the debris. I told her I would move the piles of debris to the left side of the property for $3000. She agreed and I told her  would start on Monday. Later that day she sent me a text saying there had been a change of plans. They are going to be cutting the trees on the left side of the property and putting everything to the left wouldn’t be a good idea. She said she wanted to push everything to the back and to let her know if that would be a problem. I replied no problem. Even though it was going to be more work to put the debris there since the majority of the pile were at the front. I started work the morning of Dec. 2 and worked all that day. ** ******* was suppose to come by that day but never showed up. I sent her a text say “ please go by and look at what I did today. I started in the back since you wanted everything piled there. It is taking a little longer because of having to haul everything to the back. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks”. She called me later and told me she didn’t get a chance to go by but would come the next day. I worked all day on Tuesday, toward the end of the day I sent her a text asking if she was coming by. Later she called me and apologized and said she did not have time to come by but she wanted to get me some money. On Wednesday morning she called me and told me she wanted to give me some money and she could meet me somewhere. I told her I was coming to Newberry anyway later and I would just come by and get it. Which I did. On Thursday I worked all day again and at the end of the day she had not showed up again. I called her and she told me she was sick and had Covid. I told her I was finished and the only pile I didn’t move was on the right side of the property because the logger had push a lot of dirt into that pile and it was buried in the dirt. *** ******* contacted me on Monday by text and said there was debris everywhere and another contractor was there and was telling her that she got robbed. I told her that I had no desire to take advantage of her. I worked out there for three days and to please tell me what she thought was a fair price for the work I done. She never answer thet question.
*** ******* has accused me of trying to defraud her. There is a huge pile of debris that I got up. Someone who is trying to defraud someone is not going to ask the customer to come look at what they are doing and give feedback which I did, nor are they going to work for two days before getting any pay and then come back after getting paid. It seem that *** ******* does not want to pay me for any of the work I done. I will be sending he a refund for the entire amount ($3000) by certified mail.

I wasn't looking for a refund for the work Mr. L***** did. I would rather have the work completed.
