      In January 2024 (not sure exact date, but can be provided by the service slip) I dropped off my Asus ROG Scar 15 Laptop to the Grand Computers location. The issue with the laptop was that it had a connection issue with the power supply port on the rear of the laptop. The connection WAS WORKING, but was intermittent (depended on the angle of the power cord connected to the device). I was given a quote of $75 for labor + parts costs for the repair. I asked the individual working there if they were able to complete the repair, they said yes. I called them on January 30th for an update, the individual I spoke to (Travis) said that there was a problem with the power cable soldered to the mother board and it "came off". I asked what that means for the repair and he said that the mother board is damaged and would need to be replaced. He said he would get back to me with a estimated cost. I called Grand computers back on March 18th for another update, and was advised that "you are just going to need to buy a new laptop" My laptop repair went form $75 + parts to $75 + parts + a new laptop. Their story is that the laptop had a manufacturing defect, and that it was already in place. However, I know that not to be true because the power cable from the mother board charges the battery, which is how the laptop was utilized prior to me bringing it there. also they completed the repair and didnt notify me about any issues until after. This means the damage occurred during the repair. I am not a computer technician. I know I do not have the skills necessary to repair a laptop. I took my laptop to this shop with the intent to have a professional repair my device. If they were unable to repair the device they should have just said it was beyond their ability and returned it to me in its original condition.
