The company is divided with different owners for the drywall and painting and different owners for the insulation. Do not use them for painting or drywall! A complete S*** operation. I signed a contract to do the job for $4000 and weeks later while the sales person was on vacation, they were supposed to start. They showed up and said they would only do the job for $8000. I was in a rush to finish as I was going away for 6 weeks and had the floor people waiting. I had no time to find another contractor.. With what felt like a gun to my head, I agreed and signed another contract for $8000. They did a horrible job! They didn’t sand the walls or fix drywall around outlets and ceiling lights and spray painted primer everywhere. It was the walls that needed repair with mud before painting but instead of saying this they pressed to paint the walls and it was horrible. When the sales guy came back from his vacation, he said he would send them back to fix everything if I paid them $6000 so. I paid them. The same paint supervisor comes back and says it’ll cost you more now! So a quote for $4000 that wasn’t honored and became $8000 is now going to cost even more than that! This is to paint only one floor in my house, a spiral staircase and finish the walls properly . FYI: this is for LABOUR ONLY! I supplied ALL the primer and paint! The owners are horrible and basically left me to dry after taking my $6000. I then contacted one of the three owners The owner said too bad we won’t fix it. They said if we had used them to install the drywall and mud, they would have been responsible. I did get a quote for the drywall from Cohen back in March 2024 and agreed to it. I then contacted their sales guy to have him start the job multiple times and he kept postponing and ignoring me. I finally had to get someone else in June to do the drywall. That sales person was fired apparently and I reached out to his replacement. That’s when he came out and gave me the quote for $4000 to paint.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/22/2024

    Ms. D*** contacted Cohen’s
Drywall, Co. Inc. to receive a quote for drywall and a basic paint package. The
salesman went to the job site and Ms. D*** received an estimate for both the
drywall and the paint for the 1st floor of the house. She decided
against using Cohen’s Drywall for the drywall portion of the job, which in
return was the main factor of all of her issues. She did choose Cohen’s Drywall
for her paint project. When our crew went to the site to start the job, which
was just quoted for the 1st floor, Ms. D*** was adding more areas of
to be painted. Cohen’s Drywall then sent another salesman out to the job site where
they informed Ms. D*** that we could only do the work on the 1st floor at the cost of the original quote, and if she wanted us to do the
additional areas in the house it would change the cost of the quote. Ms. D***
then signed the new proposal with the additional areas that were not included
in the original quote. We sent the crew back in and we completed the paint,
minus the baseboards and touch up for the job, and she seemed very satisfied
with it. After waiting 3 months for Ms. D*** to have her baseboards placed, she
then proceeded to call and complain about the paint job. All of the issues that
she had complaints about were due to the bad drywall work, that we did not complete.
Cohen’s Drywall then sent 2 salesmen to the job site to meet with Ms. D*** and
proceeded to inform her that the issues she was having was again not due to the
paint job, it was due the drywall company that completed the drywall portion of
her job. Cohen’s Drywall then proceeded to help her by pointing up some of the
drywall issues and fixing 5 drywall patches for her. When the paint crew went
in to finish the painting, Ms. D*** added more patches for us to complete
before she would allow us to finish the paint. At that time, she was informed there
would be an additional charge due to covering the cost the new repairs that she
wanted completed. Ms. D*** then called our salesman and asked if she should
just call someone else to complete the repairs and complete the baseboards and
touch up. The salesman proceeded to tell her that would be best. Unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement to finish
this job, so we deducted the remaining $2000.00 that was due so she could contact
a new company to complete the job. We thought that we were at that agreement,
and now she complaining even though we tried to rectify the situation as best
we could.  Thank You from Cohen's Drywall Company Inc.
