    Gave him a $6,000.00 deposit five months ago to remodel a bathroom. From the first, it was difficult to get a hold of him. It would take weeks to hear back from him. Finally cancelled the project almost two months ago after learning he had moved his business out of the state without ever mentioning this to us. After almost two months of false promises, excuses and lies, we still have not received a refund from this business for the cancelled project.

    He gave us excuse after excuse about when our money was coming. Stalls in communication, then lie after lie about how/when the money was coming to us: venmo is taking too long, venmo is going to take a week, check in two days to see if it's there, give me a call tomorrow at 4 (voicemail), I mailed the check, oh the check isn't there? give it a few more days, call me tomorrow (voicemail), the check must be delayed by the storm--keep checking, oh I put the wrong address on the check and it got returned to me....
    When I sent him an email last week letting him know I would be filing a complaint, he arranged to meet us in person two days later (having never mentioned to us he would be back in town before that, and letting us check the mailbox every day for the imaginary check he sent).
    He apologized and asked for one more week for some money to come in from a job he was working on. He swore he would be here with the money. Yesterday was the day he said he would be coming. He sent an email in the morning saying he needed a few more days because the job was taking longer than he anticipated.
    I do not recommend doing business with this person. At best, he is extremely disorganized. At worst, he appears to have zero integrity. He lied to us over and over and over, then took advantage of our sympathies with a sob story last week that was clearly performative.
    We want our money back.

    Signed a contract and gave a deposit. Waited over 2 months for revised plans. He gave me tons of lies and stories. I asked for my money back and just more stories and lies. I gave $9k deposit and want it returned.

    He originally owed me $9k and paid $6,500 yesterday. Still owes me $2,500 so I do not want to close the case until I receive it all.

    I am rejecting this response because: Paid $9,000 deposit. He never started the job and never paid me back in full. Continues to lie and never pay. Please pay remaining amount in full.
