After being a customer for over 3 years. Dr. V* charged me a $100 for missed phone call. I work in a fast pace sales industry and had a work emergency where i could not answer my cell phone because I was on the phone. I was never notified that I would ever be charged for a missed appointment fee, much less $100. This is down right unethical and the business owner should be ashamed of themselves, Because of this I have already found another healthcare provider. I am sure I will not be the last customer to leave.

On 07/30/2019, the patient/customer signed acknowledgement of office policies, including the $100 missed appointment fee.

On 09/15/2020, he was charged a $100 missed appointment fee because three attempts were made to reach him by telephone for his scheduled appointment, and he did not answer his phone.

On 09/16/2020, he voluntarily paid the $100 missed appointment fee via our patient portal.

On 10/08/2020, he signed acknowledgement of an updated version of office policies, including the $100 missed appointment fee.

From 12/07/2024 to 12/11/2024, he received six automated appointment reminders for his 12/12/2024 appointment. Our system shows these messages as processed, opened, or delivered.

On 12/12/2024, he was charged a $100 missed appointment fee because three attempts were made to reach him by telephone for his scheduled appointment, and he did not anser his phone.

On 01/30/2025, our front office staff spoke to him on the phone about this matter. He reportedly told her that he forgot about the appointment.

Even overlooking this discrepancy in what he has said, his being on a work phone call would not meet our criteria for waiving the missed appointment fee. It is customary for most people to block their work schedule to attend a scheduled doctors appointment.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I am your customer, the customer is always right. Do not tell me to block off my schedule because I can not do that. I am in sales and work on commission so if I get off my work call in lose money. Now you have lost a customer of multiple years over $100. Hope you’re happy. This place is a certified pill mill that someone in law enforcement needs to look into. Over prescribing left and right. I have heard this from multiple customers.

    Sincerely,

    Hi *****,

Our missed appointment policy, for which you twice signed acknowledgement of, is in place to protect your time and mine and to promote patient care. I did not tell you to block your work schedule. I said that it is customary for most of my patients to block their work schedule for a scheduled doctors appointment. If your job does not permit that, then I hope you are able to find another provider who can accommodate your needs.
