      On February 10, 2025 I had an appointment at Tidewater Neurology (my Dr for a year) for treatment of migraines. It was a new year so I knew I’d have to pay more than usual because it was a new year and it was my first appointment. The insurance was checked and they told me I owe over $900 for my appointment. I was shocked but I paid due to wanting help with my migraines. I contacted insurance when my EOB came out and I was only to pay $259.81, over $700 difference. Well tidewater adjusted and now I have that balance as credit on my account. In March I was told that money would be refunded. Now they still have my money and will not refund it. I was told multiple times the checks are being written and I’ll receive it in the mail by end of week. I’ve been told the office manager is out on family emergency, vacation, death in family (which I have great empathy for but it seems like they are not wanting to refund). I have physically been back in the office and was told that the checks are being written right now and it will be mailed in 2 days, should receive it in 2-3 days. Now it’s been 3 more weeks and I called this morning 06/02/25 and was told the office manager was out again on ‘I believe a family emergency “ I would appreciate any help that you can give for this matter as it’s been 4 months and no refund. Thank you

      I used to be a patient with Tidewater. It has been approximately 2 years since I was last seen at this practice. There is a credit on my account for $206.81 that I have been trying to get a refund check for since October of 2024.

      In October, November, and December of 2024, I called the number listed on the invoice for billing questions (877-839-0061. I spoke with Tonya all three times. She indicated that she would send it to the office manager. I never heard anything back.

      On January 6, 2025, I called the billing number again and was told she could see my account was in credit review status, but no action had been taken.

      On February 24, 2025, I again called the billing number and was told my best bet would be to go by one of the offices to see if somebody there could elevate my status to get a refund check.

      On April 8, 2025, I went to the Tidewater office in Goose Creek. I explained all of this to the receptionist. I then spoke with Tonya, who works in that office. She said she would send it to the office manager in Mt Pleasant, who can only write refund checks.

      On April 11, 2025, I returned to Tidewater in Goose Creek. A completely different set of office staff than were there on Tuesday that week. I explained the entire situation again. I was informed that the office manager in Mt Pleasant is the only person who could write refund checks, and she was not at work due to her mother being sick, and nobody had any idea how long she would be away from work.

      If this were money that I owed this practice, I would have long been sent to a collection agency. I understand emergencies come up, but as a business owner myself, even when I am away, somebody is able to make sure day-to-day business continues. This has now been 7 months of trying to get money back that is rightfully mine. Any help is greatly appreciated on what my next steps should be.

      Tidewater Neurology owes me a refund for over $400 based on my being overcharged for services in June. Its Billing Department has approved this amount and then informed the office staff in early July to send a check. The Office Manage Tina Green has failed to issue me a refund since then - having received no return phone calls. Please see two attachments providing paid amounts, BC/BS claim processing, and resulting refund due me.

      I visited Tidewater Neurology on 3-17-22 and 6-2-22. On the first visit I was asked to pay $90.00 and the second visit I paid $294.00.

      I was reviewing my medical expenses on my health insurer's (*****) website when I realized that my patient responsibility for the two visits totaled $242.54 meaning the provider was overpaid by $141.46.

      In mid-January I reached out to Tidewater and the representative advised that "I know what you're looking for".

      On January 25th I submitted an online contact request through Tidewater's web site and never received a response.

      On 1-30-22 I tried to call the office mid-morning to follow up once again and could only leave a voice mail. No one returned the call the rest of the day.

      My EOB from ***** for the two visits is attached.

      This seems pretty simple to me but the fact that they would ignore me gives me great concern of their viability as a business and they should be cited for their lack of ethics or capabilities in holding up their end of the contract.
