HORROR OF HORRORS. I booked a room for two nights for my sister in law and I. Only later to discover accidently that it was the same time as Black Bike Week. I am senior citizen and NOT at all interested in ANY of that NONSENSE!! The person taking my reservation should have told me that it was Bike Week. That is a BIG DEAL!!! I would have selected DIFFERENT dates. When I called back the day before my arrival date to cancel, the woman who took my call said that Ms. ***** would have to call me back to discuss a refund of my $248 OR any other arrangements. I waited and waited. I called back again, still the same story. I called again, I FINALLY was connected with the Assistant General ******************************* who impolitely told me that my money was GONE and basically it was my fault for not knowing it was bike week. She would not use my money on another reservation, would not refund my money. No help whatsoever. Never ever stay here. This is the way of the world now. Take your money and run you over. m Go to *******.

Worst customer service ever. They cancelled our reservation 24 hours ahead of time without prior notice. We had a deposit down, then they tried to run the full amount on the card the day before check-in…but the card had been changed since the original reservation. So when it did not work they cancelled the reservation (but kept the deposit). When to we called to inquire the woman working the front desk blocked our attempts to connect with the general manager even after we booked at a different hotel. Do not recommend booking with them.

This reservation was booked in April via ******* . The guest details are provided to us via the third part who receive them directly from the guest. With that being said we were unable to charge the credit card and the phone number provided was incomplete. So, the front desk messaged the card holder via ******* . The card holder was asked to contact the front desk to update the card details, or we would not be able to hold the room any longer. The guest never responded. So, the booking was canceled. The card holder called the hotel the next day and said they were aware of the message and wonted to know what happened. then the card holder's girlfriend called repeatedly demanded we cancel someone else and using profane language after about a dozen phone calls the front desk told the girlfriend i hanging up now. As for speaking with the General Manager that's never a problem but like the front desk manager told them the gm was not in but would be back later that morning, had they waited for me to return instead of continuing to call and use profanity they would have spoken to me. However just as you would not wont someone calling and cursing at you while you're at work, the front desk is of a hotel does not have to tolerate such behavior. At the end of the day had the deposit been paid or a working phone number provided there would have been no problem

Some points of clarification because the facts as presented by the business are not 100% accurate. (1) We had already put down a deposit for the first night, which cleared. The hotel attempted to charge the card for the entire stay the day before we were scheduled to check in. The card did not work because it had been stolen the month prior, so was cancelled and we had a new card. (2) The hotel claimed to have attempted to call us, but we never received those calls. (3) The only communication we received from the hotel was an emailed sent at 5:23 pm prior to our check-in date saying our room was cancelled. We called first thing the next morning once we read the email. (4) We were understandably frustrated by this last minute cancellation without warning. The woman at the front desk exhibited zero understanding or compassion for the situation and did not attempt to help in any way, which increased our level of frustration. Our final request was to talk with the GM, which we attempted to do at multiple points during the day (including at another hotel), but those attempted went unanswered.

In short, through no fault of our own the Garden City Inn cancelled our vacation reservation less than 24 hours prior to check-in and the woman at the front desk exhibited a lack of understanding, compassion, or helpfulness, which from a customer service perspective is bad business.
