You are provided quick attention when you first contact the company. The phone number for a writers guide is the only number available via their website. When you contact that number, they quickly let you know that number is only for the writers guide and do not provide any assistance in getting another number. You receive information to an author login where you can contact a publishing assistant that is your contact. You submit manuscript and review text and illustrations for your book. You do receive an agreement and receipt for payment through this site. This is where it all ends. You may get as far as final cover design, as I did, but that is the end. Your publishing assistant then has technology problems stating emails have been sent or illustrators are behind, but that is it. You dont have a published book and no refund is provided.I have discovered there are other ways to self publish that may or may not result in an excellent book, but you will not be scammed out of your money.

Dear **********, I'm very sorry to hear you're going through this with your cover. I checked production and since you have changed the design from the first draft it must go back to the illustrator to redesign and that does take a little longer. I also see your project has been reassigned to ********, who I know will take very good care of you getting the publication through the process. We have just upgraded our systems and author portals, and the IT department is aware of the issues authors are experiencing logging into their portals. My son and I completed our first book. "The Fantastic Adventures of a Fabulous Flamingo" I worked with ****** *. She was great to work with. She was patient with me and very helpful. The process was relatively smooth. Transition between stages were done quickly and accurately. This was a wonderful learning experience. In 2024, I contracted with Covenant Books to publish and sell my book, REVELATIONS ABOUT REVELATION: An Explanation of the Apocalypse of **** for the ******. I paid them $3835.00. I was told that they would not keep any money from selling my book until they repaid me that amount. While their staff were very cordial, and seemed eager to get it right, when they sent me ten free copies for my approval, I found errors in the printing and had to pay them another $125.00 to reprint it with corrections. Since they reprinted it, having made those corrections, I have found several more. They have only sold 49 copies, while I have bought 40 copies from them and sold 26 of them myself. They have tried to get me to pay them hundreds more dollars for promotions, which I cannot afford. Now, they are talking about canceling my contract after one year, when my contract says it will be renewed every two years unless I cancel it. I have tried repeatedly to call and talk with the agent assigned to me, as well as emailing her to discuss the situation. She has not responded to me in any way. I cannot afford a lawyer, so I am considering taking them to small claims court. Somebody needs to reply to me soon. I have put out flyers and notices on ******** about my book. I don't even know if that will do me much good anymore, now that they are talking about cancelling my contract a year before the two year contract period is up. They present themselves as a ****************** but they are not conducting themselves as such, in my opinion as a retired Presbyterian minister.***** G. *******Covenant Books, Inc.

Dear *****, I'm sorry you're not happy with the services and misunderstand how royalties are paid. Once you approved your book for distribution, there is a fee to send it back for revisions. In the agreement we state Covenant does not take their 5% share of royalties until the author earns back their original investment. We offer suggestions and ideas to help authors promote their book, but you don't have to take advantage of any promotions. There is no charge to join *************** and your coordinator can send you the information.Review fromGERALD P

Working with Covenant was a great experience. ****** was very informative and patient throughout the process. She answered all my questions promptly. In 2024 my illustrator and I contracted my illustrated children's book "Santa's Computer Christmas" via Covenant Books, Inc. I have mixed reviews about my experience. The MOST POSITIVE aspect was the excellent help provided by **** ********* who was the advocate and project consultant for our book. She did her utmost to help with various question and to move things along. Having said that, the book was only 34 pages. There were only about 1200 words total requiring only very minor edits. We provided all the illustrations from the get go with the exception of the back cover which Covenant created... a somewhat generic Christmasy look with the two blurbs from well known authors. It took nine months to get the final product. We signed the last week of March and didn't have product in hand until the end of November. I and my illustrator were satisfied with the final result, but we missed the prime marketing window for a Christmas themed book. ****** promotion will only begin again starting around Sept 2025. I appreciate the promotional aspects and royalty terms that Covenant provides but was VERY disappointed by the production timeline.Covenant Books, Inc.

Covenant lived up to all my expectations in publishing my novel Elissas Legacy. **** *********, my publisher contact throughout, led an outstanding professional team of experts who took my project to completion, coaching me (a first time author) in the process timelines I should expect. No surprises.She was a gem to work with, educating and coaching me as a first time author through every step. Her manner was not only very professional but also patient, informative, and supportive, making my first literary project an outstanding experience. I am currently contemplating a sequel and will definitively enlist Covenants help when the time comes - asking specifically for ****.Covenant Books, Inc.
