On 5/8/25 I was sent an invoice for $496.90 to replace the carpets in a previous unit. When emailed the inspection form, a photo of the door proving correct unit was required, but not included. I moved out of palmetto pointe on 4/30/25 after living there for two years. I called the office and immediately pointed out to assist property manager ******** ****** that the unit proof was not on the form and she did not seem concerned. I then asked ******** why I was being sent an invoice for the carpet because in the invoice my pet deposit wasnt considered and deducted? ******** told me the pet fee charged at the time of signing the least and getting my keys, along with the administration fee and the security deposit was for the pets to live on the property. I l questioned her as this is not what I was told by previous property manager ***** ****. I then asked why I was charged pet rent every month? She said for my pets to live on property. I asked ******** to elaborate what the pet fee charged was really for if it wasnt a deposit like I was told to cover any damages caused by the pets? She said for the dog wash, park, and property upkeep for animals to use. I told her my inside cats would never need that. Today 5/11, Operations mgr ******** ***** told me I never shouldve been charged the pet fee, but refused to refund it to me, because im a cat owner. They both refused to apply it to the carpet replacement. I then asked for proof to be emailed to me on 3 separate occasions from both ******** * ******** of when the carpets were last replaced in th unit, as Im entitled to that information if they want $500 from me to replace them, as in SC landlords dont have to replace carpet after tenants with pets move out, meaning previous tenants contributed to the mess on the carpet. I have been refused this information being given to me. I have given them $960 in pet rent over the last 2 years, $700 for a pet deposit, and $300 for a security deposit. This does not make sense.
