I wanted to share my recent experience with MD Roofing, who recently replaced my roof. It came to my attention that they were unaware of a critical code change that went into effect on January 1, 2022. This code mandates that all homes in the coastal wind zone (which includes virtually all of ************) must have two layers of underlayment installed before the shingles.Despite notifying their salesman of this requirement prior to the installation, they failed to comply. When I brought this to their attention, I was met with resistance and they were unwilling to rectify the situation.Ultimately, I had to file complaints with the ************************** and the roofing material manufacturer, ***. Both organizations contacted MD Roofing and compelled them to tear off my entire roof and reinstall it with the proper two layers of *************** concern is that anyone else who had their roof replaced by MD Roofing between January 1, 2022, and November 2024 may have received an installation that does not meet the current building code. Given their initial lack of awareness and reluctance to correct the issue, its possible other roofs were installed incorrectly.I strongly encourage anyone who has had roofing work done by MD Roofing during this timeframe to contact them and request confirmation that their roof was installed with the required two layers of underlayment. This is crucial for the long-term integrity and safety of our homes, especially in our coastal environment.I hope this information is helpful and that we can all ensure our homes are properly protected. Please feel free to share this post with any neighbors who may have used MD Roofing. For information on underlayment requirements in areas with wind design, consult Chapter 9, Section R905.1.1 of the 2021 International Code (IRC). Table R905.1.1(2) specifically outlines underlayment application requirements based on wind design areas aligning with Figure R301.2.1.1

MD ROOFING is absolutely the BEST! From the beginning of the process in dealing with our insurance company to the finished roof replacement, MD ROOFING was on top of each step! Can't say enough about our **** **** *******, who handled every aspect of the process and kept us informed. We highly recommend MD ROOFING!

These guys did a 100+ square roofing replacement on my house. Their leadership was great as was their communication. Their team worked from sun up to sun down for three days in 100+ degree weather and occasional pouring rain to get the job done. They were courteous and when done our entire work area was spotless. I found just one roofing tack in some shrubs. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reputable roofer.

Unfortunately, MD sent a convicted felon to my home and fooled me into signing a contract with **************************************** and MD Roofing. The salesman that sold me left the company and is still owed thousands of dollars from MD. The salesman apologized for getting me in the middle. I was told ****************** and lies.Upon signing the contract I gave a $1000 check that was cashed. My neighbors also hired MD and felt they took advantage of their family. I called the office in ************ and asked if I could cancel.Office staff *************************** immediately became offensive and rude. Treating me terribly and threatening to sue ******** many attempts I spoke with the owner, *****. He tried to intimidate me. Telling me I was breaking the law. Considering he hires so many felons youd think he would know. But, I called my insurance agent, adjuster and family attorney. I was told he was trying to scare me into giving him money. Now, MD has promised a bill for $1300. They want $2300 for canceling. Even though i was told Id be charged 25% had they ordered supplies. ***** said they only charged 15% because they didnt order supplies. Again, ***** lied and said he purchased the supplies.I would not recommend ********** to my worst enemy
