    I booked a stay with the hotel for a check-in on April 20 and check-out April 21. Upon checking into the hotel I provided my debit card as a means of payment of $215.46 and for the deposit of $100. Once we were given the hotel key we entered the room to find that it not only smelled horrible but it was filthy. There were what appeared to be dead bugs on the wall, blood stains on the carpet, cigarette burns on the blanket and the bathroom smelled like mold.
    When my kids' dad went to the front to ask for a different room the attendant was rude to him and refused to give him another room. He was told that the room was "sleep-able" and there wasn't anything that could be done.
    I have called the location three times and they refuse to let me speak to a manager then they hang up on me. I called Hotels.com, who I booked the room through, the representative reached out to the hotel and got hung up on. Then after contacting the corporate number twice, I was told that it was up to the hotel to refund my deposit and fees. The problem is the hotel will not speak to me.

    There are many issues with the Sleep Inn North Charleston Ashley Phosphate Hotel. Issues that include Marijuana being smoked through the hotel every day, absolutely filthy hotel rooms and a hotel manager (Mr. AK Patel) that during my checkout became agressive, verbally abusive and unprofessional towards myself and my 15 year old daughter. I checked into the hotel on 10 August 2023. Upon entering the hotel, the smell of weed was very apparent. While settling into my room, room 217, i inspected my sheets and found that they were dirty. I smelled them and they smelled like someone slept in them. I immediately went to the front desk to ask for clean sheets. The front desk associate offered to move me to a new room (rm 409) and asked me to inspect the room with her assistant to ensure that it was to my liking. When entering the room, the smell of weed was so overwhelming that I told the gentleman that my daughter and I absolutely could not stay in that room and I requested the clean sheets instead. That night, i woke up to a strong smell of weed in my room. Thinking the smell was coming from outside my room, i used the old sheets to cover the gaps under the door. For the duration of my stay the smell of weed never went away and my daughter and I was unable to shower the last 2 days of our stay due to the hotel not having any hot water. On the last night of my stay on the 15th of August, i work up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and found how the smell of weed kept entering my room. The smell was traveling through the vents that are connected to the bathroom fan. When checking out on 16 August, I asked for a refund for 2 out of our 6 day stay due to our inability to shower. Mr. AK Patel refused and became agressive and verbally abusive. I asked for a receipt, he refused to provide me with a receipt and continued yelling at me and my daughter in front of other guests and employees calling her an idiot as we walked out of the building.
