Dear BBB, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I recently received upon a scheduled visit to Pink V Code. I had a scheduled an appointment on April 6, 2024 for my daughter who traveled to SC for a fitting for her 2024 prom dress. I had notified Ms. Vanessa in a timely mattered letting her know my daughter will be in SC on the scheduled date in which she acknowledged via text. On the scheduled date Ms. Vanessa was not in her shop, she never answered any phone call attempts that were made, didn't post on her social media platform that she would not be available and didn't have any sign posted on her establishment that she would be closed on that day. This was a waste of time and money that I spent getting my daughter there to SC. I had to rush and start all over shopping for a prom dress when in fact I paid Ms. Vanessa $ 760 upfront like she stated. After traveling back home Ms. Vanessa still hasn't reached out to me with an apology or resolution to what happened. After several weeks has gone by Ms. Vanessa responded via text that she would refund 300 of the $760 that I paid her in advance. Up until now I have yet to receive my money. At this time I won't the entire payment that was given to Ms. Vanessa paid back to me in full.

    Business Response

Hello and thank you for reaching out. I would like to apologize for any convenience for all parties involved. I’d like to start by stating, That never in the seven years that my business has been open have I ever had any complaint of such. I take much pride in the work that I produce, and I always handle my customers with respect and care.
***** booked with me to have a custom prom dress made. We did our initial consultation. After the first consultation, the design was changed a total of three times. I normally charge for a change of design due to it an inconvenience. There’s much work that goes into creating a design and math for measurements of material needed.  I did not charge her.
After making her deposit a few weeks later, she decided not to move forward with the design. as soon as my customers send their deposit, I ordered their material the same day. most vendors do not take heavy, beaded or bridal fabrics back after being purchased. So therefore, I was not able to refund her. I did offer for her to be able to come and get the material. She decided not to, but then decided to move forward with the dress, again.
***** reached out to me a few weeks later and stated that she would be in town on a Saturday and wanted to come in for a fitting. I was under the impression due to her, not living here. It was not this Saturday. It will be the following Saturday. I was not here at my store because I was out of town for spring break with my son. This is when she decided not to move forward and assumed that I was trying to scam her out of a dress and her money.
I was informed that she had already went ahead and bought A new gown and no longer needed my services.
I decided that I would give her $150 because that’s what she paid after the deposit. And an additional $150 out of my own pocket due to her mentioning she was a single parent &  I wanted to help in someway. And this can be verified through our mutual friend.  When I let her know that I would be sending her the $300.
I also let her know that it would be no later than May 15th. As you can see, and I will text messages she agreed and said that she had Zelle.
Yesterday I received her message stating that she wanted to receive her refined sooner due to her having to purchase a new dress.
I had already said I was going to send her $300 back before May 15. Today is May 9 and I still intend to send it before May 15th.
