      I had a disappointing experience with Holt Transmission shop. After taking my truck there for a transmission leak, the manager claimed that there was no leak and that my transmission was low on fluid. However, upon returning home, I discovered that my driveway was covered in transmission fluid. I brought my truck back to the shop in West Ashley and was charged again to fix the leak and replace the fluid. The owner, Jeff, did not prioritize customer satisfaction and displayed an unprofessional attitude during our conversation.

      The customer States the transmission is jerking and request diagnosis and check the fluid level. The transmission was 6 quarts low upon arrival no weeks were found at that time Transmission to the proper level in charged him accordingly which was 6 quarts of ATF in one hour labor. Customer has a transmission fluid leak at the connector which we wouldn’t have found out unless the vehicle was sitting with us overnight and it wasn’t so he brought it back in and we had to address that issue for him. Of course we charge him accordingly parts and labor.

      Last week my car broke down to where the power steering was off. I saw that a belt had fallen off. I was able to get to the location and walk back to work Tuesday. I received a text stating that the pulley broke off and the belts fell with it and that it would be around $700. On Friday I was told it was fixed and running. I picked up the car and went to drive home. As I was driving my temperature gauge stated the car was running hot. I texted them and said what was going on and was told that they didn't check the fluids and to check the coolant. I did and it was low, so I pulled in to Advanced Auto and bought some. As I continued to drive home the car started rattling and knocking and still overheating and I messaged back. No response. The car turned off at every one of the four traffic lights on the way. When I arrived at my house the engine smelled like it was on fire and no longer will turn on. This was all in a five minute period. Now I have an unusable car that was told to me was in working condition and the service manager is not responding to his messages.

      We were contracted to replace his AC tensioner with pulley kit and  two serpentine belts. We had nothing to do with this car overheating, this car must’ve had others issues. Thanks Jeff H***

      Holts Transmission fixed the transmission on my vehicle in June of 2022. My vehicle was towed into their business and we communicated by phone. I was quoted a price and to make sure that I would be able to cover the costs. I and was quoted an asked for an exact price and was quoted an "Out the Door Price" of $4,457.00. I approved the repairs and was told that the work would be completed within 4 days. Once I was notified repairs were complete, I was informed I could pay by CC/DC over the phone because there was a chance I would not be able to make it before closing. I was advised by the Holts employee that I had a limit on my DC and would need to call my bank to increase my limit to pay over the phone. When I checked my online banking and discovered I was charged $156.28 more than quoted. I called Holts to ask why they charged more to my DC than authorized and I was advised that the employee forgot to tell me the 3 times we spoke in regards to payment that there is a 3% charge if paying by DC. I requested a refund for my money because I was not told of the charges and would have come and paid by cash or cashier's check instead of a DC throwing away $156 senselessly. The employee apologized but refused to refund my money. He offered me a FREE transmission warranty that could be used within 1 year. I declined and again requested a refund. The employee acknowledged his mistake by not informing me of the extra charges and that he would run my card for more than I authorized but still refused to honor what was told to me. I filed a dispute with my bank and this morning, 7/28/2022, the employee called to discuss the matter and to talk me into taking the warranty offered. When I refused once again, he started overtalking me, yelling and told me that I would not win my bank dispute and I would be out of the $156.00 and no warranty as well. I told him that there are other remedies for me to employ for resolution and he stated I wouldn't win, they never lose any disputes.
