    On April 22, 2023, My girlfriend, our daughter, and I rented a room from the Baymont Hotel in Orangeburg SC. I paid for one night and an additional $100 security deposit was needed but would be refunded at checkout time. Upon arriving at our room, we are immediately greeted by a very warm room with a strong foul odor. We turned on the air conditioning to help circulate the air and waited for the room to cool off. It never did. In our bathroom, the entire bottom of the tub was black with dirt and there was a thick layer of dust in every corner, on the sink, and the bottom of the toilet. Our toilet overflowed each time it was flushed and we had to borrow a plunger from the staff and fix it ourselves. As we were sleeping, our daughter kept waking up saying something was biting her and she had visible whelps from a reaction to some sort of bite on her arms, legs, and neck. We put her in the bed with us and decide to call for a doctor's appointment that morning. We make an appointment and pay the hotel extra for a later check-out time to accommodate the visit we made for our daughter. I then go to the front desk to check out and to collect the $100 deposit back and am told by housekeeping that I wasn't getting it back because someone smoked in the room. No one smoked in our room at any point during our stay. I explained this and when I asked to speak to the manager again I was told he had left and they didnt know when he would be back even though I could see him clearly in the next room.
    We have no choice but to leave so our daughter would make it to her appointment on time. We find out during the visit that the whelps on her arms and legs are from bed bug bites.

    We stayed at this hotel last year around the same time I don’t know if it’s new management, but this time it was awful the room needs to be condemned the bathroom on the ceiling is mold! It’s just old and what really did it was my husband came for a hunt I went to the front counter Saturday night to get towels and they were out! Who runs out of towels at s hotel I could see if he said give us a couple of hours but he said out for tonight smh I tried to contact management but no one was ever available because I feel I should be compensated this was a awful stay! Can I please have someone reach me thanks
