I want to share a frustrating experience I had with this medical practice, particularly the unprofessionalism/lack of concern for patient care. After coming across the practice through a Google search, I called & spoke with Donna, the receptionist, about 2 months ago. It took several attempts to reach her. I finally got in touch & was able to be sent a new patient packet, which I promptly filled out & returned on 8/14. A week later, Donna called to set up my appointment for 10/14 at 9a, which was outside normal hours (they open at 10a) but accommodated due to my work schedule.
On 10/7, I confirmed the appointment after receiving a text reminder, & even got another reminder on 10/13. However, when I arrived on the 14th at 8:55a, the office was still closed. I knocked, rang the doorbell, and called—no response. Donna finally showed up at 9:30 AM, & I waited until 9:50 before going inside. When I asked her about the appointment, she seemed completely clueless and claimed the doctor had been there, which was obviously untrue. Despite my frustration over wasting my time and losing money from missing work, Donna’s dismissive attitude only escalated. She offered no explanation or solution beyond rescheduling, & when I asked to speak to the doctor, she became rude, raising her voice and even telling me to leave before slamming the partition in my face.
This experience was extremely disheartening. I trusted this practice to provide care I desperately need, but was treated like an afterthought. A friend pointed out that this may have been a blessing in disguise—if they can’t manage appointments, they likely wouldn’t have been able to manage my care. However, that doesn’t make up for the blatant lack of professionalism and the unacceptable behavior I encountered, especially from Donna. I can’t say for sure who’s responsible for the missed appointment, but as head of the practice, Dr. Gonzalez should be held accountable. This was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had.
