    On December 7th, 2023 I applied in person for a two bedroom apartment through Atkinson Properties. I turned in the application along with a $30 application fee. I have frequently called as to the status of the application as to whether or not my application was approved nor denied. The property manager ******* has yet to return my calls or leave a message on my cellular phone in any regard. Taking someone's money and never following up would lead me to believe that my application fee was pocketed as pure profit. I also plan to follow up with the local ************************* as to these fraudulent business practices. I was told that the approval or denial process is usually a 2-3 business day process. I would like to be refunded my $30 and this matter could be rectified as I have already gained approval elsewhere.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The claim that I don't have enough income is a legal loophole that the business used to collect applications and never issue a refund. My income was never an issue when I applied for other places and got an approval. The whole issue here is I never received a response from Atkinson Properties as to a denial or approval and the explanation behind either decision. I was completely left in the dark. I have disposable income from other rental properties I own, throughout **** and ******** so income was never an issue. I also have documentation to affirm. As far as the defamation of my character as to moving a lady in that use to occupy said unit, those claims are completely false and baseless. These accusations are a segway for a lawsuit if these allegations are not brought forward with solid proof. I knew the young lady but in no way whatsoever had plans to have her occupy the unit. The only matter at hand here is the issue of not responding when it came to my approval or denial in this process. I would like a refund of my application fee in full or I have no choice but to escalate the matter at hand.
