I took my 2017 Infiniti QX 60 to Grease Monkey to have the alternator replaced. They informed me that they would have to remove the radiator and engine coolant and flush both systems as part of this repair. The cost was $1801. My car was there from May 31, 2024 to June 11, 2024 while I was traveling. When I called to see if it was ready to pick up, they asked if the transmission light had been on prior to dropping off the car. I said it had not been. They said they couldn't fix it but they cleared the code and that if it returned I should take it to someone who could fix transmissions.

After I left with my car, the transmission light turned on and the car was noticeably sluggish to drive. I took it to the ******** dealership, where they determined that this was caused by improperly reconnecting the alternator, which caused the programming in the transmission system to be cleared out. It was reconfigured by the dealership for a cost of $513.

When I picked up the car and tried to home with it, it failed on the drive home due to overheating. I had it towed back to the dealership. They determined that the radiator overheated because Grease Monkey neglected to reopen a valve in the course of draining the radiator. The overheating damaged the thermostat, which had to be replaced at a cost of $729.

On June 25, 2024 I asked Nathan D******, Manager of Grease Monkey, to refund the cost of the repair, since it was performed incorrectly. He refused and said that these things were coincidences and not due to their work. He also said I should have brought it back to Grease Monkey. I said I would not since their original work was clearly faulty.

I would like to file a complaint against Grease Monday of Pendleton SC for substandard and unnecessary work.
My car was running very rough and seemed like it was starved for fuel. I took it to them and asked them to check the fuel pump because I believed it was not working properly. I was told that they fuel pump was fine and I needed new spark plugs and wires. I told them I had changed plugs and wires a little over a year ago. They insisted that this was my problem. They assured me it would work fine. I agreed to let them, do it? I was called and they said my car was running "great" and it was ready to pick up. I got it and barely made it home. It was running worse than when I brought it in. I looked under the hood and saw the accelerator cable loose and plug wires not seated properly.
I was shocked at the substandard work and how poorly it ran. I realized that I wanted to have nothing to do with these guys again. I called another mechanic. I had to have it towed to his place. He tested the fuel pump, and it was bad. He also pointed out how bad a condition the car was left in. The car is running normally now. Had Grease Monkey correctly checked the fuel pump, they would not have had do unnecessary work. I don’t know if they are unable to do correct work or if there was an effort to get more money from me.
I am seeking the $629.03 that I paid Grease Monkey for the work. I have reached out to them at the local and corporate level, and they have delayed and refused to help me. I am not charging them for the towing expense or the amount I had to pay to correct their poor work.

Oil change was done on first of October 2022. Car was driven but started leaking oil so that by last of November it was visible on the ground and the car was not running well. Car was taken to dealership for a recall and upon their inspection the technician nits that the air filter installed at Grease Monkey was not installed properly and was the source of the leak. Another oil change was required to fix this issue at the dealership costing an additional $199. I talked to managers on three different occasions who stated that I would be refunded the $199 and that they would so so electronically but that never happened. I am contacting you because I would like to get my refund but contacting them has proven fruitless.
