House2Home (H2H) began work on our bathroom floor and shower remodel on June 12,2023. We were advised the work would be completed in 3 to 4 weeks. Funds totaling $10,417.00 were given to H2H. The work was never completed as of 09/04/2023. There were many outstanding issues needing to be addressed. New grout was needed on all the bathroom floor and shower tiles. The shower, shower floor and wall tiles had excess grout residue covering them. Bathroom floor tiles were cracked and or loose, the grout was deteriorating and releasing the tiles from the floor. The grout spacing was uneven and noticeable gaps were between the tiles.
There was standing water in the shower as the floor was improperly installed. There was no slope to the shower floor. H2H stated “to allow for proper drainage they will drill holes in the shower floor”. Totally unacceptable. Floor and entire shower had to be torn out and prepared with the proper pitch and new tile installed.
Three contractors were interviewed. Each one amazed at the inferior quality and advised all needed to be torn out and redone. Guardia Fabric was placed under the shower floor tiles. This fabric is used to protect surfaces and is not to be exposed to water. If this was not discovered serious health issues months later due to mold would develop.
Shower door/glass panel had to be replaced due to H2H inaccurate measurements. Original quote H2H stated he would remove and replace the shower door/panel. He offered $500 towards the replacement. This was not acceptable as replacement cost was $1,706. H2H's response was confrontational and argumentative.
We offered H2H opportunity to correct the work. H2H began their stalling/delaying tactics. Based on the inferior quality of his work, untruthfulness, delaying tactics, belligerent behavior we terminated our association. We hired a reputable company to redo the entire project. We were denied use of our primary bathroom and shower for almost 4 months.
