      I purchased a tombstone from Capital Monument Co. Inc in Gaffney, SC on December 29, 2023 for a black granite tombstone for the full amount of $5,874.66 I would like to know when I will get my mother’s tombstone before July 19th 2024 because this is ridiculous that they still have not brought her tombstone out at all and every time I contact them regarding this matter I am given the run around regarding when they will bring the monument. I am very upset with the situation and if it is not dealt with I will be taking this to court with my attorney and suing the establishment for being unprofessional and not keeping their word on the delivery date.

      The memorial was placed on Monday the 24th. Within the time frame that was stated on the contract. We are not behind schedule. Furthermore it was scheduled to be installed a week before but we found out the family didn’t even own the other grave space. So the cemetery wouldn’t allow install until they paid for the other lot.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. 

      The main issue that I want to be addressed is the issue of the final delivery of the tombstone. It was just delivered later yesterday evening and upon going to view it the tombstone didn’t look up to par. There was no cleaning up of the mess that was made from the installation and it was gravel residue left on the monument along with a visible chipped hole on the back of the tombstone. If necessary I will talk with my attorney regarding this issue as well to discuss necessary procedures proceeding forward. 

      There is an extreme lack of unprofessionalism and communication with this business. The owner called back yesterday to tell me that it was our fault that the tombstone took so long to get delivered because of an issue not having a second plot which was taken care of as soon as we found out about the matter the same initial day last week. There was absolutely nothing at the time that prevented the business from delivering the tombstone at the proper timeframe. They communicated it would take a few months but there were no updates given on the whereabouts of the tombstone and there was very unprofessional service and communication received by the owners altogether. The main owner communicated through mostly text and I constantly had to call and text the main owner to even get my mother’s tombstone design as well as to find out tracking communication. Instead of the owner taking accountability on their end he chose to call and argue  on the phone. There are also a few negative reviews on the owners website for both his Gaffney SC location and his Roebuck SC location if they have not removed them. Hopefully this matter can be resolved and in the future I will not recommend doing business with this company at all due to poor service and the tedious outcome. A refund should be issued for the job that was done overall.

      The Memorial was purchased on Dec 27 or 29th of 2023. the contract states it would be completed in 6-9 months. 9 months would have been the end of September. it was installed this past Monday. so it was on time. the customer states that we blamed her for the delay. we had received a voicemail stating they was upset. so we called to inform them that we are within the stated time and that the lot was not purchased at the cemetery so we could not install it as we had planned. that was the purchasers responsibility. far as updates. we gave them updates as they called. we are 6-9 months out on memorials so we do not call and just give random updates. the memorial was washed and rinsed before we left. i notice in the pic i took there is some concrete residue on the ground. we will Glady go back and spray the ground if need be. the chip she is referring to is most likely the drill hole for the vase. there has to be a hole there in order for the vase to drain.

      if the customer has any more concerns we ask that she call us instead of messaging through a third party.

      There clearly is not going to be any resolution to this problem with this business so I will not be contacting the business from this point forward as they are beyond difficult to deal with. The overall fact of the matter is simply as stated earlier the company is unprofessional and not a good business to be assisting with final arrangements for funerals so if accountability can’t be taken from them and acknowledgement of there wrongdoing then there is nothing further that needs to be discussed on the phone or in general between either of us. The fact that I had to report them on here is very telling in itself as this should be a person’s last resort but I see they are just in the business of getting over on people and doing things when they want to. At this point, I’ll just make sure people from NC choose to do business elsewhere just never with that specific company ever again. The whole experience was an inconvenience.
