I had a terrible experience here that I’m in the process of going through small claims to get my money. I had a months long intermittent coolant leak that I couldn’t figure out. The only thing I could relate it to was the AC running. Pro Custom has great reviews and I had been there once for a tire problem so I went there. For 95 dollars they misdiagnosed my problem as a bad heater core. 1200 dollars. I thought they knew it was this so I trusted them. I scheduled the day and a half job and dropped off my truck. When I returned they seemed surprised to see me and I was told by the owner, Nathan S*****, it wasn’t ready yet and it would be a long time. No problem, I brought work with me and was prepared to wait anyway. He said “No, a really long time” again, no problem. I explained when I made the appointment that I have to rely on rides to drop it and pick it up. I dropped it as planned and returned as planned. In less than a hour Nathan came out with a engine part and said it was unusual he was able to give good news but now my 1200 heater core was fine. The one it took 3 hours to diagnose? It was now actually this 20 dollar oil cooler line that was only going to cost me 600. One of the easiest parts on the truck to see leaking and replace. They also replaced hoses and clamps but when I went to get the hoses because they were under warranty from being replaced 18 months previous, I was told that was a mistake on my receipt. I asked Nathan if the AC would make this worse,he said one had nothing to do with the other. I thought right then that this guy has no idea what is wrong with my truck. I left there 600 dollars poorer with the exact same problem. A friend and I found it. How?By turning on the AC. We immediately saw the coolant pouring out the side of a heater valve. A 20 dollar part. 60 total and fixed. Not by Pro Custom. I went and showed them the problem and they still kept my money so we’re going to court. I can’t even imagine their defense here. Don’t be me.
