In March of 2023, I entered into a contract with Blue Mist Construction (they have since changed names and business type) to remodel my kitchen. I paid them 25,000, foolishly that was the total of the job. After the demo was done it was months of back and forth about cabinets and how they were waiting on them. Heath would come and do some little things like put in a light fixture, primer the walls and the small items. Finally about December 18th but never showed up. From then on, he would promise to be sending someone and they would never show. They finally put in some cabinets in December and counter tops. After that it was excuses about how someone he hired had let the remaining cabinets get ruined and they had to be reordered. Still have not gotten cabinets, sometimes I get no response for days or weeks. The last communication was August 12th. He said he still had to get cabinets which he said on June 10th they had been delivered to his store. On the 12th of August, he complained about losing 3000 on my job and was going to get to it ASAP. Nothing since then. I have been very patient but hard to shop without somewhere to put groceries. Plus we have totes in the living room with small appliances and other kitchen supplies.

We have been working with the manufacture on resolving these issues. Our company Blue Mist Homes is only responsible for the sale of the vanity cabinets. We did not coordinate or install the cabinets. As for the damage due to the handles being installed, the installer is responsible for that. We discussed that with the clients several times. As for the minor damage to the sink top, we delivered and inspected the top and found no damage at the time of delivery. As good faith we have passed a claim onto the manufacture on this. The client will be contacted by a rep from that company. We currently have three drawers for replacement for the middle section cabinet. Unfortunately, we are dealing with supply chain issues, that we cannot control. We have tried on several occasions to finalize this with the client. It will be resolved as soon as possible. In closing, the client did not have any reason to blame Blue Mist Homes for any installation problems.

    Customer Answer

I have been dealing with Heath With Blue Mist Homes out of Spartanburg SC and have been lied to numerous times.  This has been going on way to long and I have tried to be patience however I am needing this resolved ASAP.  Heath has kept me in the dark off and on for four months and I paid up front 4,900.00 for cabinets that are still not complete and counter top damaged. When I finally can talk to Heath due to him not answering my calls and when he does he constantly has a different story and reason why he hasn't finished the job he was hired to do. He constantly states now that HE only supplies the cabinets however HE stated during ordering that he would install the handles at his business and for me to drive them to Spartanburg which I did.  Months later when we finally got the cabinets which took two months a was suppose to take a month at the most due to him not checking with the cabinet company to see if it all was in stock or would have to take longer and not keeping us informed after repeatedly calling him with no answer majority of the time and I let that go trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Heath called and said he was going to deliver the cabinets finally. He also stated Steve (contractor) would be meeting him at my house to install them.  Heath never inspected the counter top while he was at my house only the cabinets to let me see it was missing drawers/doors.  The counter top was wrapped really well for him to state he checked them at his business. Contractor Steve that works for Heath met Heath at our house and Heath said Steve would be installing the handles and handed them to the contractor. Heath stated he needed to leave and I walked away from the contractor and point blank ask Heath was Steve competent enough to install the handles due to not really sold on his work with redoing my entire master bath and I said to Heath; I though you(Heath) was going to install the handles and that was what you said you were going to due and I even drove them to your business and Heath stated; no I need to leave and Steve(contractor) was more them capable installing them. I then proceeded to talk with Steve (contractor) and he stated he thought Heath was going to install them and he didn't appreciate Heath telling him to do it but he worked for Heath so he installed them. When I looked at the work Steve did installing them I was furious. I also noticed a chip in the counter top and brought it to Steve's attention. Steve stated Heath hadn't unwrapped it before delivery. He also stated he didn't do it during installation. I called Heath and I was furious because of how the back of the cabinet doors looked due to how the screws were screwed in. I called Heath due to him telling Steve to install the handles after I point blank ask him was Steve capable and knowing Steve worked for him and only after weeks later Heath calls and states he wasn't responsible and we had to take this up with Steve. I did call Steve and he said Heath told him to put the handles on and that Heath was throwing him under the bus. He stated Heath should have done it like he said to him and us that he was going to do. After numerous calls to Heath looking for answers and update as to why I still didn't have completed cabinets, Heath called back weeks later and stated there was another company he was getting the doors/drawers from  and they were in stock and we would have them in couple of days. After numerous calls to Heath later he finally calls and stated he had them but he was out of town and Steve was going to pick them up from his shop and that Steve had a key to get into his business. I called Steve and he had no idea what I was taking about because Heath hadn't told him to come get them. Then weeks later after numerous calls to Steve and Heath, Steve called back and said Heath had given him cabinet doors/drawers to bring to us and install however they were the wrong ones. Steve stated they were for kitchen cabinets and not my bathroom cabinets. At this point I feel I had no choose but to contact the BBB and get assistance in resolving this issue because even now I don't know where my drawers/doors are that I paid for upfront and in good faith from Blue Mist Homes. I am sick and tired of being lied too over and over just to shut me up. This needs to be resolved ASAP or my next step will be a law suit. I have numerous emails and text back and forth from me, Heath and Steve to proceed with the next step if this isn't resolved ASAP and not weeks and months from now. Heath even said the cabinet company was going to compensate me for the cabinets taking so long to be delivered. Heath also stated he would give me the end caps to go on the cabinets  for my inconvenience which at this point I don't believe anything Heath says.
