    This company was hired to install a fence on my property. The owner agrees to do the service and communicates in the early stages of the process, however repeatedly pushed the install date back. The reasons varied each time. When I approached him regarding the issues with his communication and an actual install date. He assured me that the date would not change and the install would happen. The owner did come and complete the services. When it came time to go over the warranty information he had to suddenly leave and has not returned any of my calls or texts so obtain the 10 year warranty that came with the product that I bouth. I contacted the manufacturer the owner claimed he got the material from and they have no record of materials being bought. My HOA is also seeking the approval notice that was handled by the owner and again he will not return calls and texts to obtain the necessary documentation.

    On 6/18/24 I paid Benjamin Cory Shirley $2750 for a deposit on a privacy fence, start date 7/22/24. He never showed up, and is presently unreachable. According to several local residents, I'm not the only one that got scammed. I'm hoping the BBB can alert others, and possibly facilitate a refund of my deposit.

    On January 18, 2024 I paid a $1909 deposit to this company to build a fence at my home. I was told work would start the week of February 19, 2024. The contractor fell ill and had to push our start date to April. He again fell ill and in writing said he would provide a refund. As of July 2024 I have not been provided a refund.

    I signed a contract on October 27, 2023 to have a fence built with Semper Fi Fencing. I paid a total of $3,700 for 191’ of fence. In the contract it guarantees a 3 year warranty covering the craftsmanship of the build. I have contacted the builder on numerous occasions (1/29/24, 1/31/24, 2/21/24, 2/14/24, 3/18/24, 4/9/24) regarding them coming out to fix the lock that was not latching properly for the gate to close. I received one response on 1/29/24 stating as follows, “We will be at your neighbors to build their fence this week and I will be happy to take a look and fix any issue there may be. I hope yall are doing good as well.” This was the last time I have spoken with the owner and he has failed to come fix the latch or respond to any of my emails, phone calls, or text messages since. The issue has now progressed and the wood has split and is sagging so now the gate is dragging across the ground. The company has made no effort to come out and fix the latch or the gate door. I would like the latch and door to be properly fixed per the 3 year warranty.

    Contacted Semper Fi Fencing, Decks and Pergolas on April 4, 2023 about building a pergola on my home. "Cory" came to my home with two other gentlemen on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and provided information on how he would build the pergola and gave me a total cost of $2,760. He needed a deposit of $1,503.00 for materials and to book a start date. A check was made out to Semper Fi Fencing, LLC and mailed to 186 Lyra Lane, Summerville, SC 29486 and he received it on April 25, 2023 and it was deposited the same day.

    On May 15, 2023, I verified the start date of June 1, 2023. He notified me he was behind due to rain and changed the start date to June 7, 2023. On June 7th, I tried to call him to see if they would be here today and I got his voicemail which was full. A few minutes later, I received an IM from Semper Fi Fencing saying it was his wife "Kelly" saying he had an emergency appendectomy (ruptured appendix) last night. Since that time, we have made several attempts to contact Cory via Messenger, Text and voicemail messages in an attempt to reschedule. Absolutely no replies. We have also requested a return of our deposit as he may be unable to do this type of work for a while. Again, no response.

    Although he MAY still be recovering, he certainly should be able to communicate at this point in some way.

    I have a paper trail of conversations with "Cory" of Semper Fi Fencing on IMessenger since April 4th. On 6/21/2023, I sent a text message hoping he was doing well and wanted to reschedule the project with no response. On 6/28/20/23 and 7/14/2023 I called and left a similar voice message as his phone as it had started accepting voicemail messagees. Still no response.
