On August 1, 2022, I paid the remaining balance of my repair bill at this shop. Initially my car was in for two head gasket replacements and timing chain replacement as well. After several weeks, I was told that he had my car "cranked" and it was ready to be picked up. Upon payment and leaving the shop I noticed white smoke blowing through my tailpipes. I thought it could have been from sitting up unused for so long. Then I got a low coolant reading on my dashboard. I was running late for work and was trying to get there until my car overheated and stalled. Earlier before he began work, I was told that I would have a two-year warranty on the repairs. After getting the car towed back to his shop, he later told me that week that I would need a new engine and also that I needed to have my car moved so he could have more space on his lot. I asked him during that conversation if he'd taken the car for a test drive. He stated that he DIDN'T TEST DRIVE the car and that he instead "got it cranked" and had "done what I asked". But what kind of repair shop/mechanic doesn't take a car for a TEST DRIVE after doing those kind of repairs. To make matters worst, he refused to give me back at least half of my final payment for the car being inoperable. So in all, I was out of about $3,000. and had a mechanic willing to accept NO RESPONSIBILITY or LIABILITY for my car overheating and potentially burning the engine out. He was QUICK to shift ALL THE BLAME on ME and make EVERYTHING my FAULT. What happened to my two-year warranty? Why did he NOT TEST DRIVE the car, yet was SO EAGER to TAKE MY MONEY? If he did test drive it, he would have noticed the leak which possibly ruined my engine. Meanwhile, he got my money and my car is still parked... THANKS FOR NOTHING RPM!!

Customer asked for timing chain and head gasket replacement. Customer stated engine will not start. I asked customer who diagnosed concern. He stated another shop had checked it but could not do repair.
I asked if any work had been done and he stated no. On disassembly it was apparent that the right side camshaft has been replaced and timing chain broken from improper installation. I suggested engine replacement, Gaskets were not available from local part stores. Customer ordered gaskets and seals online. I informed no warranty on parts I do not supply. After repair was complete, Engine ran fine. Ran engine and checked for leaks and cooling system was working properly. Customer picked up car.
A Few days later customer called and stated the low coolant light come on and he continued to drive car. Then the temp gauge went to hot and he still kept driving until engine stalled out. Had car towed to shop and with him watching i pressure tested cooling system for leaks (no leaks) Checked further and found several cylinders had lost compression. customer has run car so hot it damaged engine. I reminded customer there was no warranty and I could not repair engine that because he continued to drive car when it started to over heat. Invoice stated no warranty.
