I purchased a brand new 6075 Mahindra tractor from this company. The owner charged me an inspection fee for my new tractor. He also charged 200$ delivery fee . He drops off the tractor and I pay him 200$ in cash. Within the first 2 hours of use the dash isn’t working it has two hydraulic leaks and an antifreeze leak. The dealer says it is my responsibility to bring it back to Walterboro so he can work on my brand new tractor. After much frustration I borrow a trailer and haul it to him. He now says it is fixed and ready for me to come pick it up. He refuses to redeliver my brand new tractor that he sold me with multiple crucial issues. This man has been very rude , irresponsible and non compliant.
This is no way to treat anyone that has purchased new equipment from your company.

Response sent to Mahindra USA about the issue:

    Murray Wood Products
    **** ******
    *****, SC
    6075 Cab
    Purchased 7/30/24
We delivered it 8/5/24 against our better judgement.  ***** is approximately 112 miles from Lowcountry Equipment.  We do not have insurance that covers us when hauling and that is risky.  We made it clear to him that it was a one-time event and that he would have to make any hauling arrangements after that initial delivery.  He did pay us $200 cash to cover our fuel expense.  When we delivered the tractor we also delivered a "Gift Box" from Lowcountry Equipment; a Thank You for your purchase gift.

After the tractor was delivered the RPM gauge was not working and our service manager figured it ouy quickly and helped him reconnect the wire plug that was loose and it worked fine.

Later, I dont remember the day, he called about a small hydo leak and said it was brand new and he wanted us to come fix it.  From conversation and pictures it appeared to be a small leak and after discussing with him he was able to put a wrench on it, snug it and the leak stopped- simple fix.

We are good people so we decided to mail him a complete 6075 Cab filter kit for his troubles with a nice friendly note from us at Lowcountry Equipment (approx $185 value plus postage).   We mailed it to his provided farm address and the post office returned it to us.  We finally got a good mailing address and sent it again.

**** called upset that he had another leak and he refused to check it out himself.  He said it was worth it to him to bring it here and get it fixed.  He hauled the tractor to us and dropped it off arriving weeks later on 1/30/2025.  **** pointed out the areas that it was leaking.  The hydro valve connection under the tractor that he tightened and is now no longer leaking, He pointed out the front loader couplings that were slightly dripping and the drop of antifreeze that was on the side of the engine, he did not know where that was leaking from but it was extremely small.  He made sure we were aware that he was not in a hurry to get it back and even suggested trading it for a 5155.

The hydro valve under the tractor is no longer leaking so the customer tightening corrected any leak.
We found the small leak from the antifreeze and replaced the "pipe oil cooler to WA".  Fixed
We found the loader hydro quick connects slightly dripping when under load.  Mahindra was Out of Stock so we had to get them from elsewhere.   Replaced 3 of the male and 3 female quick connects and that did not solve the issue completely.  So we ordered and replaced the "bulk head fitting" that holds the quick connects.  Leak corrected
We also made sure that all the fluids were at the proper levels.

Called **** to let him know his tractor was tested and ready.  Now he has changed his mind about it being worth it to bring it to us and wants us to deliver it to him.   I explained that is not something we could do.  He said it would take a few days for him to arrange transportation.

A few days go by and he calls screaming at me that he paid to have it delivered and that is what he wants.  I tried explaining to him that even if he was 5 miles down the road from us that would be an issue.  That is when he decided to start threatening me and I did not take the threats well.  Once he threatens us then we cannot let any other employees deal with him- he scared me and that is a liability.

Then a record breaking snow storm came our way and it was definitely going to impact our physical operating schedules.  Because of his distance I called him to make sure he was aware that our hours during the week we going to be altered and would change based on the impact of the storm.  **** indicated that he did not have a way of picking up the tractor yet and I ended with just trying to communicate.

After being threatened we have no go forward.  His tractor is ready.

    Additional information-------

We have been in business for nearly 10 years without a BBB complaint.  We are good people and try to provide good service.  **** knowingly and willingly bought a tractor that is 112 miles from the dealership.  Repair of the tractor is not the issue... it simply comes down to the distance.

The threats he made make this a most uncomfortable situation.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This tractor has had nothing but issues since it arrived on my property. The so called “ small leaks” were large enough to drain all hydraulic fluid out of the machine in 2 hours of use.  Bottom line is I gave him the opportunity to start us over with a clean slate by either redelivering my tractor or giving me back my delivery fee and I would come get it. He refused to do either. I do not want this lemon of a tractor the harm done to this machine by being ran with no hydraulic fluid is unknown.  This is terrible business one should have greater character than this. I want a 100% buy back. Including my 200$ delivery fee and hydraulic fluid I personally had to buy to put back into the machine so I could harvest my corn.
    this total is 60,600$.

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

We completed all the repairs to the tractor and operationally tested with no issue.   The initial complaint was about the $200 delivery fee.  In the last response Lowcountry Equipment agreed to refund the initial $200 fee and because our faith is strong, we will pay an additional $200 towards expenses for the customer to come and pick up the tractor that is ready.  Total $400
