I had items in the cleaners and made several attempt to retrieve, to be told my items was not there! On yesterday March 4, 2024 and 325 pm I went to retrieve my items and was told they were not there! I then contacted one of his former employees because she brought the items in, to ask her how my items were in the system! She then told me that the young lady had my name spelled wrong and incorrect number! So I gave the information to her, she could not find and got manger came and pulled! Items are now in front of me, I’m waiting to pay $211.20 and she tells me I cannot get because I have to come back tomorrow! I told her I couldn’t come back to Walterboro could she call him so I got items! I called 911 because I just wanted my items! Peggy called Burley and had me trespassed so getting my items was not an option! I asked the officer why was I being trespassed and he said the state of SC is the only state a person can be trespassed for no reason but because! I called my attorney! And was told to reach out to owner and I did he calls back and tell me I can come get my items! I then get there he placing items in trunk I asked him if everything was in so I could down trunk, he comes running out of building get in my trunk by stopped with his body and start throwing the items back in store! I asked him what is wrong with you, he instantly started accusing me of being a theft! I said sir you have problems and I asked for something in written for the up charge he point at the wall! I said I didn’t bring the items in here and did not agree to any of that! I sent 4 people to retrieve my items and several occasions and was told they were here! He kept saying I know who brought them and she was trying to put in her name, I said Burley that has nothing to do with me! He kept going on and on, and told me I’m doing you a favor! He stole my money and harassed me by recording me without permission; when in fact, I gently placed them on the ground to ensure I had all my item!

This is mostly all fabricated information, and we have the video to support the actions of this very rude customer.

She brought these in originally last year around Feb-March, after an even hosted by the local news paper. We have a close relationship with them, and they are a charge account. This woman did the event planning, and was an employee for the news paper at the time, she came in stating that linens were to be charged to the paper, over $600 worth of linens. Only to find out weeks later, she did NOT have authorization to do this, the editor and I discussed it, and I was told she was no longer employed, and was NOT allowed to charge ANTTHING else to the company.
About a month later, the former employee she referred to brought the same linens in and tried to put them in my system under her personal name giving the order at 90% discount. When I found this out, I approached her and let her know I would NOT be doing all that for so little $$, and that it was NOT a employees personal clothing and certainly didn’t qualify. She gave the information needed to put them in the system, b/c she was the only one who knew where they came from. This was May 2023, all dry cleaners tickets say the same on the back, terms and conditions are set by IFI and imposed by congress. I don’t write them, it is what we are allowed to do business by. It states, we are not responsible for items left over 30 days. Same is posted on the walls for all to see, along with a sign that says $2 late fee per ticket per month.
Not long after this, the former employee faked a accident on the job, which is still under investigation, seeing how she has over 20 plus cases from previous employers in her 20 years of work history, along with a rash of other lawsuits, and 20 plus evictions since she got out of school.
Clearly, they’re good at working the system, just like they are trying to do now.
The linens in question have been ready for pick up since May 2023, and when she claimed to me she had sent people by to get them, she couldn’t provide a month or date, b/c of anyone had come for them, they would have been ready for pick up, as we would LOVE to be paid in a timely fashion for large orders of this nature. I KNOW for fact, no one had been by for them, at all. After being left for 6 months, due to space, we move larger orders that are not likely to be retrieved to another storage area to make room for current work. This is why we know she had NOT attempted to get them, b/c they would have been gone, or discussed keeping them around for said customers convenience.
On the day she came for them, she walked in on the phone with former employee, making nasty comments from the start to employee helping. Then a manager is called to assist b/c she is being nasty in our lobby, and now speaking about confidential pending case information surrounding former employee on the phone, on which I was called. When someone is acting irresponsibly, we allow the local authorities to remove them, until they can be civil, this would be why she was told to stay away. She then leaves, and calls me on my other companies 24 hour emergency line…. In which I told her, this was not what this line is for, she would be called back when her items were pulled from storage. I was out of town, on delivery for the store, within 1 hour, I was back, and had pulled her items. She stood in the store the 1st time yelling she wasn’t paying more than $300, which no one knows where she got that total from, since she didnt even have the original tickets her friend got when they were dropped off. Yet, somehow she knew a price, and had not been in the store in close to a year. When I called her, I told her that her total was not the same b/c she had 10 months of late fees, she stated she wasn’t paying any fees, b/c she didn’t agree to it, I expressed of course she didn’t, b/c she tried to run them through my establishment for a 2nd time for free!!! That we caught it, and she was gonna have to pay for the work this time unfortunately. I was even kind enough to waive $60 worth of the fees, yet she still came to my drive thru with a nasty attitude, still with former employee on the phone. I loaded all the orders into her car, and asked if she was paying cash or card, she said card, as I was coming back in the door. I reached for the card, and she snatched it back, stating “don’t snatch things from me” to which I giggled and stated that I hadn’t even reached for it yet, and asked if she could tell the future? To which she ducked her teeth, looks towards the back of the car and says. “Are all my items in my car?” Pushed the trunk door closed, which I left open intently b/c I had a feeling she was gonna try to drive off. After she hit the trunk and it started to close, she put her hand on the shifter, to which I said “oh no you don’t” and walked back out and stopped the trunk with my hand and said, not today. She tried to act like she wasn’t about to try, but, 2 other employees were standing and saw and said, she was about to try it. I told her I would load them after her paying, to which she makes another comment about the pending case she knows NOTHING about, saying I need the $$ more than her. This must not be true, since she is seeking refund for work we did 10 months ago that she now has in her possession. I have full video of both encounters with her available for viewing here, as well as a recording from my cell of her pulling into the parking spot in front the store and laying all of them on the asphalt just to put them back in the same place??? She has her items, I fully inspected them before the pick up along with assistant manager, as we knew the swindlers we were dealing with at this point.
