      I picked my 1998 Chevrolet Camaro up from LD walker Transmission on 02/18/2025 for the transmission to be fixed. Once i picked it up I took the car home where I realized the car was running extremely bad. I thought it was an engine problem so it was towed to The Muffler Shop of Columbia for a diagnostic. 02/14/25 I got a call from the muffler shop telling me that they found out the reason the car was running bad was because LD Walker Transmission installed a cheap stall converter into my transmission causing it to run poorly when I already had an expensive performance spec stall converter. I believe that LD Walker Transmission either broke my stall converter during the rebuild or took it for themselves, leaving me with the cheap replacement. I would go back and ask them to replace but don’t want any retaliation on my vehicle.

      Good afternoon, we have reviewed the complaint by Mr. ******** and dispute that the torque converter is the cause of his vehicle running poorly. We did replace the torque converter with the highest stall available for a stock rebuild which is what he authorized. He never mentioned that he wanted a performance build and when the owner of our shop spoke with Mr. ******** regarding his stall converter he agreed to move forward with the higher stall stock option. He has not reached out to us in regards to this complaint but we would be more than happy to get this matter resolved. If he truly believes the torque converter is the cause of this we can go with a performance converter but there would be additional costs involved for the upgraded part. However, we do not believe this is a converter issue because a torque converter will not make a vehicle run poorly. Our warranty clearly states warranty repairs are only done in our facility.
