I purchased a house in September of 2021. Climate Control had installed a central air unit on the house in 2019. The unit has a full warranty valid to cover everything except for the labor. My central air unit did not turn on in 2022 at all. Had a friend who worked for Climate Control prior, show up and take a look at it for me. He determined that it had been going out up to a year before it actually gave out. This piece of equipment costs over $***** and Climate Control and ******* refuse to honor the standing warranty for it. Air units are supposed to last at least ten years and this one didn't make it even three years before dying. How are they allowed to even sell these junk units and not take responsibility for their mistakes.

    Ryan,

I have attached the warranty registration and original invoice for the equipment in the complaint. Although it is not stated on the invoice we offer a 2 year labor warranty in addition to the manufacturer's 10 year parts warranty. Both of these warranties are for the purchasing owner. Warranty is for the original purchaser only. It does not transfer to future owners.

The instance is very unfortunate as you clearly know due to the filing of a complaint, but the equipment 2 year warranty we provide expired 4/30/21 and the only request we received for service on this was dated 7/12/22 which is over a year past our warranty period. The compressor is failed on this unit and we have no record of any maintenance on it of any kind until the time of failure. During our phone call on 7/12/22 at 11:17 am we discussed that warranty is for the original owner and explained I would see if we can get it to run through the manufacturer before we could quote anything. I was not able to get it approved from the manufacturer since you are not the original owner. I then called you back at 7/12/22 at 11:35 am and explained I could not get your warranty parts from the manufacturer without appealing to our representative for an exception. We discussed that the part credit would be between $***-$**** if I can get it approved as an exception. Then you would still be responsible for the labor since it was well beyond the 2 year warranty we provided to the original owners only. At that point you hung up on me. I called you back on 7/12/22 at 11:39 am and you hung up on me again. On 7/20/22 you called us after hours and did not leave a message for us.

You terminated our past communication preventing us to attempt some resolution or exception in your favor as I offered on the phone and didn't respond when I reached back out to you. In this matter I see no way to get help form the manufacturer a year later with a new request after our last offer was declined. Price increases have been extreme in the past year and If you wanted to replace the outdoor unit now we would be willing to do it next week for a total of $***** plus tax. This offer is good only if approved and paid for by 4/21/23 at noon Central time. Please call our office directly at ************ and ask for Cam ******.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter, this is the best we can do for a piece of equipment purchased by a previous owner and out of warranty.

    Cam ******
