    On February 8th i paid premier tax $*** for completing my 2022 tax return. I learned that my taxes were done incorrectly and had them correct the issue. Several months later i went in to ask about why i didn't receive my refund and was told to wait. I was also told they could refile and had methods to resolve this issue if still not received. Today i went back and was told it could be months and even over a year before i received my money. I asked about the methods i was told about to resolve this issue and was told there are none?? I asked since the error was theirs and i'm the one paying the price for it if i could receive a refund i paid for the taxes to be done and was told that would not ever happen.?

    The original tax return was technically done correctly.  The "error" was in the selection of the filing status used on the tax return.  The tax preparer did not know, or perhaps remember, that the taxpayer claims a dependent and changes filing status every other year.  We cannot make assumptions when filing tax returns.  Ms. ***** did not tell the tax preparer that she desired a different filing status and claiming of a dependent than the year before.  This is something Ms. ***** should have communicated.  The original return resulted in a tax refund.  A smaller tax refund than what would have been calculated using the desired filing status.  Once the error was pointed out, the tax return was fixed FREE OF CHARGE and resubmitted to the IRS.  The additional refund amount, combined with the original refund, is what the taxpayer would have received in one "correct" tax filing.  While I sympathize with having to wait for the additional refund, we are all at the mercy of the IRS and their issuance of refunds.  Ms. ***** will get her refund from the IRS.  Since she will get every dollar of her refund that is owed to her, and work was still done on our end, I did not feel a refund of her tax prep fee was warranted as there was no additional cost to Ms. ***** other than time.  Ms. ***** was also NOT told that she would have to wait for a year to get her money.  She was told that there is no timeline and we cannot guarantee a date in which the refund will be issued.
