World Classrooms was excellent to work with and provided the needed information in a timely matter. They took care of all the details of our trip, and provided fantastic chaperones for the students. Our local expert, Christian, was a wealth of knowledge and seemed to truly enjoy answering questions that we had. I would highly recommend students and parents take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!

We apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. Your feedback is important to us, and we'd like to address your concerns. When travelers sign up, they have the option to choose the trip protection we call TripCare. TripCare states you would receive a full refund of all monies paid towards the tour, less the $199 enrollment fee and cost of TripCare, up until a week prior to trip departure. This is also stated in our terms and conditions under section 17. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding during the enrollment process. Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or concerns.
    All the best,
    The WC Team

We have had two experiences with World Classrooms. One child was able to go on the trip and had a good experience. It was an expensive trip though, and I'm not sure the price tag was worth it. It likely would have been cheaper to save our money and take a trip as a family than to try to send each child on a school trip with World Classrooms.

One of our children was not able to go on the trip, and we had to cancel. Thankfully, we had purchased TripCare, so we were given a partial refund. However, canceling with TripCare means that you lose $498. That is quite a pricey cancellation fee given the total cost of the trip. With most companies, if you purchase a refundable rate, you get everything back if you cancel. So please be aware that if you cancel with TripCare, you still lose a lot of money.

But if you cancel without TripCare, then you lose even more. They don't just withhold a certain percentage of what you have paid to that date. They withhold a certain percentage of the total trip cost in the end.

I do not recommend World Classrooms. Their trips are expensive, and their cancellation policies are not worth the risk. My recommendation is to save your money, plan well, and take a family trip with your children.

I set my grandson up for this for the 2023 - 2024 world classroom tour. His dad then decided to take him at which time my grandson will be in a different school and a different county. I do not recommend anyone do these tours. This company will not refund! No matter what! They do not allow for any kind of special circumstances unless you pay extra for that!

Trip was taken in July 2023 and booked in October 2021. We were given an itinerary of places to be visited that didn’t align with the actual trip, were told we’d have a taste of DC cuisine which didn’t even come close to what we were fed, and our tour guides were grumpy and bossy yet tried to sing and dance with the kids on bus rides to make up for their negativity.
After the trip, I checked my emailed itineraries from WC from spring 2023 when trip was almost fully paid for. It DID NOT include what was on our WC website itinerary, but I was never notified that the two itineraries were different. With as much money as we spent for this trip, I suppose one could say it’s our fault for not double checking BOTH itineraries. However, five of the places that were included in our itinerary were either not done at all or not done according to the way it’s listed in the itinerary. Our itinerary listed a US Capitol Tour and Tidal Basin Walk. The distinction between “tour” and “walk” should’ve been made before the trip happened. Walking around the outside of both places does not mean we “toured” the US Capitol. Our itinerary listed a visit to the Smithsonian as well, yet our tour guides did not have that on their itinerary at all. That was one of the main places we wanted to go! Our itinerary also listed White House and Lafayette Square, yet we were not informed that we wouldn’t be going inside the White House at all. Our itinerary listed a Civil War Cannon Demonstration which led our group to believe we’d be shown an actual cannon being shot. That did not happen, and we were simply shown some cannons at the battlefield with explanations as to how they work. Our itinerary listed a Mansion Tour of Mount Vernon, yet we did not get to do that. Our itinerary also listed that we would visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum and see the Space Shuttle Discovery and Enola Gay. Again, this was not listed in our tour guides’ itineraries either, so we did not get to do it.

Thank you so much for reach out to us and providing your thoughts about your trip. Your feedback means a lot as we strive to improve our upcoming tours. We apologize if there was any confusion regarding your trip itinerary. We always aim to set clear expectations for our travelers.

In the itinerary we sent out, we highlighted the places you'll be exploring. It's worth mentioning that some stops are meant for a walking tour, while others offer guided tours for a more immersive experience. We're working on making this difference more apparent to ensure you have the right expectations at each stop.

We know it can be a tad confusing to tell the official itinerary from the example ones. A few months before your trip, we send you the official itinerary and all the important details leading up to your school's Departure Meeting. At the meeting, we'll walk you through the itinerary, explain how to read it, and give you a taste of what to expect on your tour. Until then, any itineraries you see on your account or our World Classrooms website are just to give you an idea of what your tour might be like.

I purchased "Tripcare+Protection (full refund)", in order for my 2 kids to make a trip to DC. When there was little interest among their classmates, we decided to make it a family trip instead. I assumed that full refund meant full refund, since I paid extra for it. In total, I paid $*****, and was refunded $***. They told me that nearly $**** was towards enrollment fees AND the Tripcare Protection that I purchased. I'm sure this is a great opportunity for kids, but be 100% sure that you plan to go through with it. I rarely pay extra for extended warranty and the like, but NEVER thought it would end up costing me more in the end. Don't be a sucker like me, and do your homework.

World Classrooms understands that the unexpected can happen and offers an additional travel protection plan called TripCare+. When travelers enroll on a tour, they are given the option to add this optional protection, or decline. When adding TripCare+, travelers are given the total cost for TripCare+ per traveler. As mentioned on the enrollment form and World Classrooms Terms and Conditions, travelers are notified all monies paid for the tour, less the enrollment fee, will be refunded back.

WILL NOT LET ME LEAVE ZERO STARS! We paid $3000 for our daughter to travel to New York City. She would attend a few Broadway musicals and see the sights. Covid hits in 2020 and the trip is delayed until 2021. I speak with a supervisor with World Classrooms and he explains that we can sell our trip credit to a future student and get reimbursed fully that way. 2021 Broadway is still closed but they are planning on going anyway but eventually postpone again. In January 2022, they offer us a $1500 partial refund. We are not interested in a partial refund and would like to sell our credit to another student. Our daughter has now been in college for a year and was not able to take the trip which took place in July 2022. We are now told that the credit cannot be sold as the trip has already taken place and the prices have changed. They are not willing to work with us at all and will not transfer to any supervisor. Whoever answers the phone says they are the supervisor. Buyer beware does not even come close to a sufficient warning for this company! We are out $3000 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Would not recommend them for travel!

We are sorry and understand your frustrations. World Classrooms works with every family and traveler on an individual basis to try and best accommodate for each situation. The Trip was rescheduled for the next summer in 2021 because of Covid. Because of the restrictions in New York City that were still in place, the trip was rescheduled again until 2022 and World Classrooms offered this group a 50% refund to all travelers. The initial email regarding the 50% refund was sent on December 3rd and stated that another email will be coming in January for travelers to opt into this refund. The second email was sent on January 21st and gave travelers until January 31st to accept or decline this 50% offer. Both emails were opened by the family, on December 3rd and January 22nd respectively. World Classrooms does offer the opportunity to do a name change up until 45 days prior to trip departure for all travelers to receive a full refund. This trip did not depart until July 27th, 2022. This offer did still stand for this family up until that 45 day deadline. Any time after that deadline, we are no longer able to offer a name change option because the trip was too close and no one was able to take the spots over for this family.
