  Fairly new in SD so one of the things you need is an affordable and good mechanic. Dave was able to schedule us in quickly since we needed the rear shocks replaced and he did a great job. He kept his appointment right on time even though he does all the repairs himself. Very organized and efficient and knows what he is doing. After comparing rates he is very reasonable and does not overcharge. Heard him answering some question on the phone while we were there and the future customer was pleasantly surprised at the quote Dave gave him. On top of it Dave has a very pleasant, helpful and friendly demeanor. Great person to know and work with will recommend him to friends and will use him again when there is a need.

  Affordable Automotive absolutely saved my family's vacation out to Montana by being available - on a Saturday morning and through the afternoon - when our car broke down and needed several hours worth of work due to a botched strut installation that was done elsewhere. After several hundred miles of driving, some vibration and a lot of noise began to quickly develop, so we stopped. As luck would have it, we were close to Rapid City and called Affordable Automotive due to its great reviews and reputation online. Dave - the owner, operator, and one-man show, was able to quickly diagnose the most significant issue over the phone and guided us as to how to safely get the remaining 20 miles into town and avoid an expensive tow. We limped our car to Affordable Automotive first thing in the morning and arrived right when Dave did (exactly when he said he would be there). When he got the car on the lift, he quickly diagnosed the remainder of the issues and was extremely communicative about the time it would take to fix and the cost to fix it.....then immediately got to working. Our car required two new wheel bearings and new front brakes, along with other adjustments and unavoidable challenges that were encountered along the way (seized bolts, corrosion, etc.). Dave is incredible....I am not exaggerating when I say he is easily the best mechanic I've ever dealt with. Even as a one-man show, he still got the job done fast and got it done right. He is the best you'll find, with great rates on both the parts and the labor, no overcharging whatsoever, and such a friendly and helpful demeanor in every way a customer could ask for. There is no other mechanic I would go to in Rapid City!! I only wish Dave lived in my hometown so I could make him my regular mechanic.
