Black Hills Flooring turned a 180 square foot flooring job into an 8-month headache.
Because this was an insurance claim, I believe they saw an opportunity to inflate costs. I was charged over $9,000 — nearly $50 per square foot — for a basic engineered hardwood installation. The flooring itself was around $15 to $16 per square foot. The rest went to "demo and floor prep" costs, including a supplemental quote that tried to justify $500 per hour in labor. When I pushed back, they still tried to move forward with a total cost close to $12,000.
Midway through the project, my point of contact left the company, and no one followed up. I ended up spending my own time coordinating with another company just to get the job finished, including handling missing trim that was never addressed properly.
The install had visible gaps that had to be fixed after I pointed them out, a mismatched finish, and a transition piece we paid extra to avoid. No dust protection was used, and our home was left filthy.
For the cost, the delay, and the amount of effort I had to put in just to wrap it up, this was one of the most frustrating contractor experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend them.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience to warn others about using Black Hills Flooring.

this company deserves a ZERO, and there is no option for that.

the story is long, and i will keep it as brief as possible.

DO NOT DO "BUSINESS" with this store. if you have no other choice, AVOID ***** as your "salesperson".

*********************** her BOSS**************************************** refused to compensate me for the trauma of dealing with *****, after intimating in an hour long conversation monetary compensation would be a logical way for me to feel there was some resolution.

RUN THE OTHER WAY. CRAPPY SERVICE, UNCARING OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES. I wish i'd read the reviews before doing business with them.
