      Date of the Transaction 9/30/2024 - Rapid Towing **** **** ***** ****** St. Rapid City, SD 57703 I was involved in an accident 9/25/2024, I hit an elk with my vehicle on Hwy 79. Responding Sheriff notified me that the tow company that picks up my vehicle will contact me. The Sheriff at the time did not know which company would pick up my vehicle and I left the scene. Unfortunately this did not happen. I finally obtain which tow company picked up my vehicle on Saturday 9/28/24 by me calling the Custer County Sheriff's Office. I made contact with Rapid Towing this Monday morning, due to their office not being open on the weekend. The lady I spoke too made it seem like they didn't want the vehicle after I offered the title. She told me the price to get it was 750 dollars. I made arrangements for triple A to pick up my vehicle and I went to go pay the fee. I was told that my bill was now $962.96 because I wasn't turning over the title. I was then told they don't accept credit cards. They directed me to their ATM but the amount was to much for me to get enough money to pay the fee. I then proceeded to the bank and withdrew $1,000 to pay the fee. When I returned to Rapid Towing and paid my fee in cash, I was told they do not have change. Frustrated, I said take the fee even though inside I felt they were scamming me. Unfortunately, Triple A cancelled and I had to sign the title over to Rapid Towing to get rid of the car. I was told I could not get refunded the difference from the $962.96 price to the $750 price because I didn't have the car keys. This confused me because the car is totaled and can not be driven. Still frustrated I signed the title to the company and left. I feel their business practices should be investigated and I would like to prevent others from having to experience fee gouging.

      The owner of Rapid Towing requested I call him. I called him and he listened to my situation and what happened with his staff. He committed to refunding me $533.60. I received that check today in the email. This complaint can be closed. I am very appreciative of this resolution. Thank you.
